Cleo Buckman Schwimmer is the only child of famous actor David Schwimmer and his ex-wife Zoe Buckman. She is a celebrity child and still hasn’t pursued a career on her own, though she’s already shown an interest in acting, and is apparently ready to follow in her father’s footsteps.

Cleo’s parents have been divorced since 2017, and she spends the majority of her time with her mother Zoe, though David is also close to her. David Lawrence Schwimmer was born on 2 November 1966, in Queens, New York City USA. He’s the son of Arthur Schwimmer and his wife Arlene Coleman-Schwimmer, both lawyers. Of Jewish ancestry, David is the younger in the family, and has an older sister Ellie.

The family moved to Los Angeles, California and settled in Beverly Hills, where he went to Beverly Hills High School. Previously, he attended a Shakespeare workshop held by Sir Ian McKellen, after which he entered a contest in the Southern California Shakespeare Festival, and  in three years David won two first prizes, which only increased his interest in acting.

He had a tough time blending in at high school, and found solace in drama classes; encouraged by his drama teacher, he attended a summer acting program at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Following his high school matriculation, David wanted to start his acting career immediately, however, concerned for his future, his parents advised him to go to college before pursuing acting professionally. As a result, David enrolled at Northwestern University from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater and speech.

David moved back to Los Angeles, where he started pursuing his acting career, making his debut in 1989 in the television thriller film “A Deadly Silence”, with Mike Farrell, Bruce Weitz and Charles Haid in the lead roles.

Two years later, he appeared in the film “Flight of the Intruder”, and was then selected for the part of Michael in the TV series “The Wonder Years” (1991-1992). After a few other television roles, such as the part of City Attorney Dana Romney in the TV series “L.A. Law”, David secured his career role as Dr. Ross Geller in the TV comedy series “Friends”. Sobel in the TV mini-series “Band of Brothers” (2001), while in 2005 he portrayed Duane Hopwood in the comedy-drama film of the same name.

He played Josh Rosenthal in the crime-drama biopic “The Iceman”, starring Michael Shannon, Chris Evans and James Franco.

In 2016, he joined the cast of “American Crime Story” as Robert Kardashian, and from 2018 to 2019 he played Noah Broader in seven episodes of the TV series “Will & Grace”. Most recently, David portrayed Jerry Bernstein in the TV comedy series “Intelligence” (2020-2021), co-starring Nick Mohammed and Jane Stanness.

David’s love life hasn’t been the center of the media attention for some time, but he and Cleo’s mother married in 2010, having met in 2007 in London, but divorced in 2017.
