Who is her former husband J. B. Mauney?
James Burton ‘J. B.’ Mauney was born in Charlotte, North Carolina USA on 9 January 1987 – his zodiac sign is Capricorn, and he holds American nationality. He specializes in bull riding, and has spent the majority of his career competing in the championships organized by the international bull riding organization Professional Bull Riders (PBR).
J.B. was raised in Charlotte alongside his sister Jessi Proctor, by their parents Tim and Lynne Mauney; nothing else is known about his family, as J. B. respects their privacy. He became interested in bull riding at a quite an early age, partly because his father enjoyed watching the rodeo sport on TV. J.B. studied at a local high school, and upon matriculating in 2005 didn’t enroll at college, but joined PBR instead (against his parents’ wishes).
In the first year of his competing, he won the 2006 Rookie of the Year Award.
J.B. is one of only two professional bull riders who managed to stay on the now-retired bucking bull Bushwacker for the required eight seconds during the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS); only one other person had managed to stay on the bull for eight seconds during the entirety of the bull’s career. J. B. is also amongst the five people who had managed to stay on the bull Asteroid in August 2012, at the BFTS in San Antonio, Texas.
During the first eight years of his career, J. B. wore a helmet while riding bulls, however, in 2013 he turned to a cowboy hat. It was announced on 5 November 2016 that he had become the first bull rider to earn a total of $7 million.
J.B. has suffered many injuries throughout his career, but the most serious was in 2017, when he injured his right arm; he was immediately taken to surgery, and a screw and 13 anchors were installed in his arm. He still continued with bull riding, stating that the injuries are ‘part of being a cowboy’.
He won the PBR World Finals in 2009 and 2013, as well as the PBR World Championship in both 2013 and 2015.
Since 2020, J. B. has been competing in the American freestyle bullfighting organization Ultimate Bullfighters (UBF).
