Early life, family, and education
Tana Mundkowsky is quite secretive when it comes to her personal matters; she doesn’t have social media profiles, thus it’s hard to find more facts about her private life. Also, there is nothing known about her parents and her siblings, if she has any
Since Tana and Brandon dated for several years before they married, many believe that she is also from Henderson, Nevada, however, she hasn’t confirmed this assumption.
Speaking of her educational background, she matriculated from high school in 2000, and it’s assumed that she enrolled at college, since she works as a teacher, although Tana hasn’t shared which university she attended.
What happened to her?
If you are a fan of the Killers, you must have heard their song “Some Kind of Love” from their fifth album “Wonderful Wonderful”, released in 2017. Perhaps you didn’t know that this song Brandon wrote for his wife Tana while she was struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a mental health condition caused by witnessing or experiencing a terrifying event.
Reportedly, Tana suffers from complex PTSD which made her suicidal. Brandon spoke about his wife in an interview for Q Magazine, saying that she went through several horrific experiences in her life – he hasn’t spoken about what happened to her – adding that once, he had to cancel his concert since she was feeling bad. It was in August 2015 that Tana again came to the point when she had suicidal thoughts.

Tana still struggles with PTSD, however, this doesn’t prevent her from being involved in various charitable projects. To help to raise funds for the Saint Baldrick’s Foundation, she once fully shaved her head.
Relationship and marriage with Brandon Flowers
Tana met her future husband back in 2001; their first encounter was at a store on Flamingo Road in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brandon said that when he saw Tana he thought that she looks cooler than him, and that he had to approach her.
They began talking, and a few minutes later exchanged ‘phone numbers. It didn’t take them long to go on a first date, and they both remember talking about music the whole night.
The couple had their ups and downs, however, after four years of dating, they tied the knot on 2 August 2005, on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The wedding ceremony was intimate and held in presence of only their closest family members and friends. The newlywed moved into their new house, in Henderson, Brendan’s hometown.
Their first son, Ammon was born on 14 July 2007, while their second son Gunner was born on 28 July 2009, and two years later on 9 March, Tana gave birth to their third son named Henry. The boys were featured as additional voices in the song Brandon wrote for Tana.
As of November 2022, Tana and Brandon are still together.
