Who is Danielle Deadwyler?
Danielle was born in Atlanta, Georgia USA on 3 May 1982 – her zodiac sign is Taurus, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress, author and film producer, with more than 30 acting credits to her name, while she’s probably known best for her portrayal of Cuffee in the 2021 action western movie “The Harder They Fall”, written and directed by Jeymes Samuel, and which starred Jonathan Majors, Zazie Beetz and RJ Cyler. It follows an outlaw who’s reunited his old gang, wanting to seek revenge against his enemy who’s just been released from prison; the movie won 27 awards, including a BAFTA Film Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer, while it was nominated for 80 other awards.

Danielle was raised in Atlanta alongside her older sister Gabrielle Fulton, by their father who prefers to stay away from the media’s attention, and their mother Carolyn G Deadwyler who’s a housewife; Danielle’s sister Gabrielle is today a playwrite.
Danielle studied at Grady High School, and it was during her four years there that she became interested in acting, and could’ve been seen appearing in various school and theatre plays, however, her parents urged her to focus on her education, and to pursue acting afterwards.
Danielle was interested in a couple of other activities during her teenage years, and was physically highly active, as she played both volleyball and basketball for her high school teams. Upon matriculating in 2000, she enrolled at Spelman College, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2004; she continued her education at Columbia University, and graduated with a Master’s degree in 2006.

Danielle made her debut film appearance in the 2010 short romantic drama “Cyburbia”, while a couple of her following roles were in the 2012 drama “A Cross to Bear”, the 2013 short family drama “Sweet, Sweet Country”, and the 2014 short family drama “Ir/Reconcilable”.
It was only in 2017 that Danielle gained recognition, when cast to play Animal Shelter Worker in the critically acclaimed drama “Gifted”, directed by Marc Webb, and which starred Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace and Lindsay Duncan. It follows single man Frank as he’s raising his niece Mary, and the movie won six of the 13 awards for which it was nominated.

Three of Danielle’s most recent film roles, with the exception of “The Harder They Fall”, have been in the 2018 drama “Jane and Emma”, the 2019 thriller “The Devil to Pay” and in the same year the short action drama “Black Dispatch”. As of mid-2022, she’s shooting for five upcoming movies, including “It’s Time”, “Bygone Billy”, and “Parallel”.

Danielle made her debut TV series appearance in the 2013 episode “Ghetto Love” of the comedy “Mommy Uncensored (TM)”, and the following years saw her appear in an episode or two of various series, such as the romantic thriller “Being Mary Jane”, the drama “Greenleaf”, and the action adventure drama “MacGyver”.

She’s interested in all kinds of art, especially in painting and drawing, and has been to various art galleries around the US.
Danielle’s also passionate about travelling, and her career’s taken her to a couple of US states, as well as to several European countries, while her dream travel destination’s Paris, France.
She has multiple training sessions at the gym every week, mostly because it’s important for her acting career to stay in shape; Danielle’s also taking good care of her mental health, and does yoga on a daily basis.
