Kevin Michael Alejandro was born on 7 April 1976, in San Antonio, Texas, USA, the son of Tomas Hernandez and his wife, Dora. Of Mexican, Spanish, and English ancestry, he was raised from the age of eight in Snyder, Texas, along with his two sisters, Kimberly McGraw and Tanya Hernandez.

After high school, Kevin enrolled at the University of Texas, Austin, and after graduating, he sold all his possessions to move to Los Angeles, California, USA, to pursue an acting career.
