Who is Loreal Palmer?

American celebrity family member Loreal Palmer was born under the zodiac sign Capricorn on 3 January 1989, in Harvey, Illinois USA. She’s perhaps only known for being the elder sister of Lauren Keyana ‘Keke’ Palmer, a famous actress, singer and TV show host.

Early life and education

Loreal was raised alongside her sister Keke and their two other siblings Lawrence and Lawrencia in Harvey, by their mother Sharon Palmer who was a high school teacher, and father Lawrence ‘Larry’ Palmer who was employed at a polyurethane company; Sharon and Lawrence were both actors prior to deciding to quit the film industry for unknown reasons, and they also met at an acting school.

Loreal attended a local high school in Harvey and was into multiple activities during her four years there as she was a member of the school’s drama club, took dance lessons and learned to play several instruments. She’s appeared in over 110 movies and TV series, but is perhaps known best for starring as Emerald Haywood in the 2022 mystery horror science fiction movie “Nope”, which also starred Brandon Perea and Daniel Kaluuya, and was written and directed by Jordan Peele. It follows residents of a lonely gulch in California who’ve made a chilling discovery; the film won 40 of its 196 award nominations.


Keke was mostly into singing while growing up and her first live performance was at a local church, as she was raised in a deeply religious Catholic family. She was 11 when she made her debut film appearance, playing Gina’s Niece in the 2004 comedy “Barbershop 2: Back in Business”, and the same year saw her made her debut TV series appearance, portraying Arlene in the episode “The Letter” of the crime mystery “Cold Case”.

It follows the elderly woman Carrie Watts whose son won’t let her leave her home and visit her hometown, which has made her run away; the film won 10 of its 29 award nominations.

Some of Keke’s most recent roles have been in 2023, in the musical film “Usher: Boyfriend”, the  episode “Vivian and Zoe” of the crime mystery comedy series “The Afterparty” and the animated adventure comedy movie “Under the Boardwalk” (voice role).

For her acting skills, Keke’s won 17 of her 72 award nominations, including her 2021 Primetime Emmy Win for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series, for “Turnt Up with the Taylors”.


Keke revealed in June 2021 that she was dating American non-celebrity Darius Jackson; she gave birth to their son in February 2023, but they split in October allegedly because of Darius’ behaviour and domestic violence.
