A Grammy-awarded funk rocker, who rose to prominence after releasing his self-titled debut album in 2004, Van Hunt is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer. Van was raised by his parents, and was into music from an early age. He was aged seven when he began playing drums, and then a year later, he took-up the saxophone, later adding keyboards, and the last instrument he learned to play was the guitar.

Blige, The Roots, Seal, and many others, while he won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, for his 2007 collaboration with Joss Stone and John Legend on their cover of the song “Family Affair” by Sly & Family Stone.
Speaking of his personal life, Van was married once, his ex-wife is Millicent Hunt and they divorced back in 2007, after, as she said, Van left her and their son, Drake, and moved to Los Angeles, California. According to her statement, Van ‘seeks to dissolve this over 15-year marriage to be with another women’, adding that he confessed to Millicent that the other woman is his ‘soul mate’.
