Have you ever wondered how rich is the Duggar family, as of early 2016? According to sources it has been estimated that the overall size of the family’s net worth is over $3.5 million. Obviously, the main source of its fortune is coming from its successful involvement in the entertainment industry. Another source of its wealth is coming from writing books.

The Duggar family consists of father James Robert “Jim Bob” Duggar and mother Michaelle Annette Duggar, and their 19 children: Joshua James, John-David, Jill Michelle, Jessa Lauren, Jinger Nicole, Jordyn-Grace Makiya, Joseph Garrett, Josiah Matthew, Joy-Anna, Jana Marie, Jedidiah Robert, Jason Michael, James Andrew, Justin Samuel, Jeremiah Robert, Jackson Levi, Johannah Faith, Jennifer Danielle, and Josie Brooklyn. Jim Bob and Michaelle have been married since 1984.

Starting in 2008, the Duggars became the subject of the TLC reality TV series “17 Kids And Counting” produced by Sean Overbeeke, but over the years, the couple had two more children and the show was renamed to “19 Kids And Counting”. Since its inception, the show aired for 10 seasons, before it was cancelled in 2015. However, it was the main source of the Duggars’ net worth. During the show, the family went through many scandals, including child abuse, and also Jim Bob’s affair.

Regardless, the show was extremely popular while it was on air, averaging around 2.3 million viewers per episode. The first season had 10 episodes, and because of its popularity, the producer’s continued to air the show – and the second season had 20 episodes, and the number of episodes increased regularly until the fourth season, when it reached 38 episodes, but since then it began to decline. The 8th season had 12 episodes, the 9th had 17, and the last one had 21, finishing with a one-hour special.

The head of the family, Jim Bob, had a successful career in politics, before he became a TV personality. He served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002, when he decided to run for a Senate seat, but without success.

Duggar’s family net worth is also increased by their ownership of numerous commercial properties, and Jim Bob is also a realtor, which only further adds to the Duggar’s net worth. Beside that, Jim Bob together with his wife Michaelle has written two books published by Howard Books; the first one is “The Duggars: 20 and Counting!” (2008), and the second is “A Love That Multiplies” (2011), which has also added to their fortune.

Speaking about their less-than-private personal life, the Duggar family is Independent Baptist Christians, and they are members of the organization Institute in Basic Life Principles. Their current residence is in Springdale, Arkansas. Some of the Duggar children have now married, and have children on their own, making Jim Bob and Michelle grandparents.
