Who is Bernie Rayno?
Bernard James ‘Bernie’ Rayno was born in Pennsylvania, USA on 29 March 1967 – his zodiac sign is Aries, and he holds American nationality. He’s a meteorologist and journalist, who’s probably known best for the work which he has done for AccuWeather.
Early life and education
Bernie was raised in Pennsylvania alongside his twin brother, by their parents about whom nothing’s known, as Bernie respects their privacy, but it’s believed that his father was a lawyer, and that his mother was a journalist.
He was five years old when he became interested in weather, as he was fascinated to learn about where rain comes from, and how snow is formed.

Bernie watched the weather forecast with his father nearly every day, and his father would teach him about various weather phenomena.
Bernie attended a local high school, and became a huge fan of football during his four years there. Although he wasn’t skilled enough to play the sport, he enjoyed watching others play, and occasionally watched National Football League (NFL) at home with his father; he’s still a fan, and today cheers for the Green Bay Packers.
Upon matriculating in 1985, Bernie enrolled at Penn State University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology in 1990.
Career as a meteorologist
Bernie started working for the American media company AccuWeather Inc. only a couple of months after he graduated, and has been with them for over 31 years, working various jobs for the company during all these years.
Between 1990 and 1998, he was their lead western forecaster, in charge of severe weather monitoring. Bernie was then promoted to the position of the afternoon manager of forecasting operations, while he was also in charge of managing video broadcasting.
After four years he was promoted to the position of chief meteorologist for the AccuWeather Network, making him the ‘manager and lead trainer for television broadcasting’ and chief meteorologist for WVII-TV in Bangor, Maine, the position he holds to this day.
AccuWeather
Dr. Joel N. Myers founded AccuWeather in 1962, while working on his master’s degree in meteorology at Pennsylvania State University. A gas company was his first customer, and AccuWeather quickly gained recognition for its good service; Dr. Joel is today its CEO and chairman of the board, while both his brothers Evan and Barry Lee held high positions at the company until 2020.
AccuWeather’s today providing their services to clients and companies from all around the world, including to over half of the Fortune 500 companies – the 500 largest corporations in the US. AccuWeather also has their own website on which people can check the weather for free.
They’ve been criticized for a number of things, including for having increased the range of their forecasts from 15 to 90 days, as these have turned out to nearly always be misleading.
As of early 2022, Dr. Joel’s net worth has been estimated at over $10 million, while the company’s worth is believed to be more than $100 million.
Bernie’s presence on social media networks
Bernie doesn’t seem to be active on Instagram, and some of his fans have claimed that he had an account on the network which numbered over 10,000 followers, but that he’s deleted it for unknown reasons.

It’s followed by more than 30,000 people, while Bernie’s tweeted close to 40,000 times, mostly weather forecasts, however, Bernie also uploads pictures and videos taken during his everyday life.
He has a Facebook page, as well, and it’s today followed by more than 5,000 people, although Bernie’s most recent update was on 12 September 2020.
Love life and wife
Bernie prefers to keep the details of his love life away from the media’s attention, but has still allowed his fans to have a glimpse into it. He married Tyler in October 2009, in a private ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members; the two haven’t spoken about how they met, but it’s believed that they were set on a blind date by a mutual friend.
For their ninth anniversary, Bernie and Tyler visited the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, where they rode horses and had lunch. The two often travel together, and in June 2018 visited the Turks and Caicos Islands.
On 21 June 2021, Tyler gave birth to their son Reeves, and Bernie uploaded a picture of the baby boy onto his Twitter account; many of his friends and colleagues wished him a happy fatherhood. The family counts another member – their dog Cocoa.
As of February 2022, Bernie’s married to Tyler, and they have a son together.
