Who is Lindsay Czarniak?
American sports anchor and reporter Lindsay Ann Czarniak was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania USA, on 7 November 1977, making her zodiac sign Scorpio. She’s perhaps best known for her coverage of NASCAR for Fox Sports, although she’s also done some notable work as a sideline reporter for National Football League (NFL).
Education and early life
Lindsay and her younger brother Andrew were raised in Harrisburg by their mother who was the principal at Rose Hill Elementary School, and their father Chet Czarniak who was a sports journalist, and worked at a local newspaper for 17 years, while he’s today working at usatoday.com as the managing editor; Andrew graduated from the US Coast Guard Academy in 2005, and is today serving in the Coast Guard.
Lindsay looked up to her father while growing up, thus her interest in sports journalism, and she learned a lot about the job from him; he occasionally took her with him while working, and the family moved multiple times when Lindsay was still very young, while they lived in Northern Virginia after she had turned five.
She studied at Centreville High School and was passionate about playing sports during her four years there; Lindsay was on her school’s field hockey and lacrosse teams. She matriculated in 1996 and then enrolled at James Madison University, where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2000.
Lindsay’s career
Lindsay launched her career while she was still attending University, as she completed an internship at the TV station WUSA, licensed to Washington, D.C.
Upon graduation, she spent some time working as a production assistant at CNN, and then moved to Jacksonville, Florida after having been offered to work at WAWS; Lindsay often moved in the following years, working at WTEV-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, WTVJ in Miami, Florida, and for the Speed Channel.

It was in June 2005 that she returned to Washington, D.C. after having been invited by the late American broadcaster George Michael who wanted Lindsay to work as a sports journalist and anchor for WRC-TV. She began co-hosting “The George Michael Sports Machine” in the second half of 2006, and her first major task was to travel to Italy and cover the 2006 Winter Olympics; Lindsay could then also have been seen working as a NASCAR Nationwide Series pit reporter.
Following George’s retirement from the show, Lindsay and Dan Hellie became co-hosts, and Lindsay was amongst the first journalists to interview the Washington Redskins after their teammate Sean Taylor was murdered in November 2007; also in 2007, and 2008, she worked as a pit reporter for TNT.
On 17 July 2008, Lindsay threw the first pitch at Bowie Baysox doubleheader, and the same year saw her travel to Beijing, China, and report on the Summer Olympics.
It was revealed on 23 June 2011 that Lindsay would be leaving WRC-TV and joining ESPN; she appeared in the ESPN show “SportsCenter” for the first time on 19 August 2011, and began co-hosting it in December 2012.
In 2013, Lindsay became the first woman to cover the Indianapolis 500 race, and continued working at ESPN until her contract expired in August 2017. American professional race car organization Joe Gibbs Racing revealed on 12 February 2018 that Lindsay would be joining their team, and would be in charge of producing digital content for the Daytona 500 race. In July of the same year, she worked as a presenter on the Netflix reality show “Hyperdrive”.
Since 5 February 2019, Lindsay’s been working at Fox Sports, covering NFL games and NASCAR.

Lindsay launched her self-titled YouTube channel on 13 December 2013, and there are today over 800 people subscribed to it, while all her videos combined have been watched close to 150,000 times. She’s taken many breaks from uploading content, but has recently returned with videos which feature her interviewing various people working in NASCAR; we’ll be mentioning Lindsay’s three most popular videos, which’ve contributed to her popularity on the internet.

Lindsay’s more or less open when it comes to talking about her love life in public, and it’s known that she’s today both a wife and a mother.
She married American news reporter and anchor Craig Melvin in Washington, D.C. on 15 October 2011, in a large ceremony attended by many people; Craig’s probably best known for the work which he’s done as an anchor at MSNBC and NBC News, and is currently the host of the morning news show “Today”.
Lindsay gave birth to their son Delano in March 2014, and their daughter Sybil followed in November 2016.
She hasn’t mentioned other men whom she’s been with, Lindsay’s married to Craig Melvin as of November 2022, and they have two children together.

Lindsay’s also a bit of an actress, as she played Mist in the 2000 action movie “Aquarius”, while she also made a cameo appearance in the 2009 psychological horror movie “Ghosts Don’t Exist”.
