He landed his breakthrough role in The WB’s prime-time soap opera “Savannah”, in which he portrayed Travis Peterson, a character who was murdered in the first episode, and later his twin brother Nick Corelli. The series was aired from 1996 until 1997, canceled after two seasons.

At the time, he also starred as Ben McGrath in the made-for-TV drama film “The Ultimate Lie” (1996), next to Kristin Davis and Michael Murphy, and as Riley Baxter in the made-for-TV crime mystery film “Crowned And Dangerous” (1997), directed by Christopher Leitch. Concurrently with working on the series, George Eads continued to work on other projects. In 2002, he played Adam Willingford in the ABC Family romantic comedy film “Just A Walk In The Park”, and featured as Tommy Baker in the TNT sports comedy-drama film “Second String”. It was followed by his portrayal of Frank ‘Shorty’ Austin in the TNT Western film “Monte Walsh” (2003), next to Tom Selleck and Isabella Rossellini, and in the next year, he landed the title role in the TNT drama film “Evel Knievel”, directed by John Badham.
