Who is Dylan Macdonald?

American YouTuber and social media star Dylan Macdonald, was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 28 October 1992, so Scorpio’s his zodiac sign. He launched his self-titled YouTube channel on 2 January 2007, but today there are only a few over 500 people subscribed to it; all of Dylan’s videos combined have been watched over a million times, and most of these are scenes taken from popular TV series, while others are related to music.

Dylan’s also known for being the son of the late Canadian stand-up comedian and actor Norman Gene ‘Norm’ Macdonald.

Education and early life

Dylan was raised an only child in Los Angeles, by his father and his mother Connie Macdonald who was a marriage and family therapist, but Norm and Connie divorced in 1999, when Dylan was only six years old, remaining equally involved in his upbringing. Norm died from cancer on 14 September 2021.

Dylan was interested in a couple of activities during his teenage years, especially in sports; he was on his school’s baseball team, and also enjoyed playing basketball and soccer. He initially wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an actor, however, after having appeared in several school plays, he recognised that he wasn’t talented enough.

Dylan matriculated in 2011, and then enrolled at college, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2015.

Dylan’s YouTube channel differs from other popular YouTubers, as he doesn’t feature himself in any of his videos, but rather enjoys sharing some of his favorite scenes, both funny and serious, from some of his favorite movies and TV series. Dylan’s also passionate about music, and has uploaded a number of videos which feature American rock ‘n’ roll guitarist Ace Frehley teaching people to play the guitar.

His #1 video, “The Incredible Hulk Ending Theme” has been watched over 350,000 times since 21 August 2009, and is the theme song from the critically acclaimed TV series “The Incredible Hulk”, which aired from 1977 through 1982, and won four of its nine awards.

Dylan’s second most popular video, “Ace Frehley Vibrato Guitar Lesson” has been viewed close to 200,000 times since 27 October 2009, and features the above mentioned guitarist teaching his fans vibrato.

His #3 most viewed video – “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure Theme Song” – has been viewed close to 130,000 times since 21 August 2009, and is the theme song of the critically acclaimed 1985 adventure comedy movie “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure”; the film was directed by Tim Burton, starred Paul Reubens and Elizabeth Daily, and follows Pee-wee Herman whose bike’s just been stolen, and who’s now embarked on an adventure across the US. The movie was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Family Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.

Presence on social media networks

Dylan’s followed by more than 600 people on Instagram, as he’s uploaded only 11 pictures and videos onto the social media network, with most of these featuring him spending time with his friends and playing ice hockey; he had another Instagram account which had over 20,000 followers, but it’s been deleted for unknown reasons.

He created his Twitter account in May 2007 and has since tweeted close to 7,000 times, while there are only close to 150 people following him today; his bio section reads ‘former somebody’, and his most recent tweet was on 2 January 2022. Dylan mostly uses Twitter to share his thoughts with his fans, but hasn’t been active on the network for over a year now.

Dylan’s followed by close to 15,000 people on TikTok and has amassed more than 6,000 likes of all his videos combined; most feature comedy content, and feature him dancing, lip syncing and telling jokes.

He’s also active on Facebook and has more than 200 friends on his profile, but seems to be using it only to keep in touch with his closest friends.

Love life and girlfriend

Dylan hasn’t spoken about any girls whom he’s perhaps dated, but has recently uploaded a video onto his TikTok account which features him hugging a non-celebrity American girl. It’s believed that he and the girl have recently begun dating, and that they met on the internet; the girl seems to be only a little younger than Dylan, but he hasn’t addressed the rumors of them dating.

Some of his fans believe that he’s gay, mostly because he avoids speaking about his love life in public; some have also claimed to have seen Dylan and his boyfriend spending time together, but none of this has been confirmed by Dylan.

He seems to be unattached as of February 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Dylan’s physically highly active, and plays ice hockey nearly every day, while he’s also into playing basketball and soccer with his friends.

He splits his time between the US and Canada, and has also travelled to a number of European countries, with his favorite city being Barcelona, Spain.

Dylan loves to spend his spare time in nature, whether if it’s deep into the woods with his friends or high up in the mountains.

He’s a lover of animals, and his family had two pet dogs while he was growing up.
