Benjamin Todd ‘Ben’ Roethlisberger, also known as ‘Big Ben’, was born under the zodiac sign of Pisces on 2 March 1982, in Lima, Ohio USA, thus he holds American nationality, and comes from a family of Swiss and Jewish descent.

His professional football career started when he was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2004 NFL Draft, and on 4 August signed a six-year contract worth over $22 million in salaries and bonuses, with an additional $17 million available via incentives.


Ben played in the NFL for 18 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, announcing his retirement through his Twitter account posting in January 2022: ‘The journey has been exhilarating, defined by relationships and fueled by a spirit of competition, yet the time has come to clean out my locker,’ adding that he is retiring as a truly grateful man, and that he wants to be all that he can be to his wife and children.

Although his career was overshadowed by injuries and sexual assault allegations, most of his fans will remember him as the player who guided the Steelers to their first championship after 25 years, defeating the Seattle Seahawks, 21-10 in Super Bowl XL in 2006.

During his career, Ben advanced to the Super Bowl two more times, winning against the Arizona Cardinals in 2009, although falling to the Green Bay Packers in 2011.
