Taylor attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and then Herbert Hoover Middle School, after which she would study dance in the Center of Creative Arts. Her parents signed her up to be part of Ford Models at a very young age, and because of this she was often in and out of school and busy. Her first acting opportunity came as a commercial for “Shake ‘n Bake”. For high school, Momsen attended the Professional Performing Arts School which was known for having several actors attend. In the year 2000, she would gain international recognition as Cindy Lou Who in the film “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. After that appearance, she became part of “Hansel and Gretel” and even “Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams”. Her career would take a little break for a while and then she would make a few appearances in films including “Underdog” and “Saving Shiloh”. The next opportunity that would give her popularity would be the CW series “Gossip Girl”, but her appearances in the series would however decline, as according to her she would start focusing more on her music career. She left after the fourth season, and returned for the final episode of the series.

Momsen was already very familiar with music as she had been singing and recording since she was young. She became the front-runner of the band The Pretty Reckless who had signed a deal with Interscope Records. They opened for The Veronicas and would eventually release their first album “Light Me Up” in 2010, gaining a significant following in the UK. In 2011, they became a supporting act for the band Evanescence and would then go on their second tour entitled “Medicine Tour”. The following year they toured with Marilyn Manson, and even recorded a song that was used for the “Gossip Girl” finale. Their latest album is entitled “Going To Hell” which was released in 2014.

Around June 2008, Taylor became a part of IMG Models and would start to be featured for various brands and collections; she’s collaborated with Madonna, John Galliano and even Samantha Thavasa. As a model she’s been featured in magazines such as “Seventeen”, “Revolver”, “FHM” and “Maxim”.

For her personal life, it is known that she prefers pursuing her music career rather than acting as she’s been acting her entire life. Aside from that, not much else is known about Momsen’s private life, as she mainly keeps to her work and is also still at a relatively young age.
