Eventually, Allen left Los Angeles and joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 1993. Although he only ran 764 yards that year, he led the team in the conference finals, and was awarded the NFL Comeback Player of the Year. He played with the Chiefs for four more seasons, leading the team. During his years in Kansas City, the Chiefs won more games in the regular season than any other team in the NFL. During his career, he became the first player in history to run 10,000 yards – 12243 in total – and gain another 5,412 on receptions. He also scored a then record 145 touchdowns, 127 rushing. He was selected for six Pro Bowls.
