Early Life, Family, Educational Background

Ashley Elizabeth Ann Newbrough was born on 13 October 1987 under the zodiac sign of Libra, in Newport, Rhode Island USA. Her father, Greg Newbrough, is American, while her mother is Canadian, thus she’s of White Caucasian ethnicity, and holds dual nationality.

Ashley has three siblings – two sisters and a brother.

At the age of three, Ashley and her family moved to Cambridge, Ontario, where she spent her formative years. Ashley’s father, Greg, served as a Captain in the US Marine Corps (USMC), while her mother’s career is unknown.

After that role, Ashley landed the lead role of Sage Baker, Rose Baker’s twin and arrogant, high-maintenance granddaughter of cosmetics mogul Laurel Limoges, in “Privileged” (2008-09), cast opposite Lucy Hale, JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Brian Hallisay.


Ashley then starred in Kyle Sawyer’s short 2011 film “Even the Brave”, with Craig Marshall and Matt Burkhart, then she had the recurring role of Kyra in the American mystery drama “Mistresses”, through 2013 and 2014.

Newbrough was cast in her first Hallmark movie, “Love Under the Stars,” in 2015, co-starring with Wes Brown and Jaeda Miller, playing Becca, the 30-year old graduate student scared of commitment after suffering a devastating loss; her entire life changes after meeting Emily.

In 2019 she starred in two other Christmas rom coms, namely “A Merry Christmas Match” and Lifetime’s “A Christmas Love Letter”, then appeared in “The Valentine Competition” and “Flowers and Honey,” both in 2021. Also, in February of 2021, Ashley appeared in “Like Whoa,” a music video by the pop band Forever Endeavor.


Most recently, Ashley Newbrough has delved into producing. Early in 2021, she was the executive producer of “Flowers and Honey” which she also starred in.

Personal Life, Relationship

Ashley Newbrough keeps her love life private, but it’s known that the actress has been dating American actor Matt Shively since 2017, and they spent Christmas with her family the following year.  Her boyfriend, Matt once described her as his rock, saying ‘you are my one true. I love you. Always have. Always will.’ The couple celebrates their anniversary on 25 August.
