Christine was raised in Rolling Prairie, in La Porte County by her parents Nancy and Frank, a middle-class family; her mother was a housewife and her father a firefighter.
She attended Rolling Prairie High School, and upon matriculating in 1985, she enrolled at Indiana University, but then transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from which she graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor’s degree in History and English-American Literature.
Career
She launched her modeling career while still in high school, and at age of 17 in 1984, she became Miss Teen Indiana, and continued on to work as a model when she moved to Los Angeles, until she found a job as an assistant to Elizabeth Dalling, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Special Artists Agency, and Head of International and celebrity representation.
In 1994, Christine produced the movie “Kangaroo Court”, which was directed by her husband, and starred Stoney Jackson, John Colton and Gregory Hines; it was a short drama about an African-American lawyer who is forced to defend a White policeman. The movie had just one award nomination, an Oscar for Best Short Film, Live Action, which Christine shared with her husband, Sean Astin.
Currently, Christine is a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Lava Entertainment, a company focused on developing new material related to shows, concerts, and the film industry.

He is a director, producer and actor with over 150 credits to his name, perhaps known best for his role as Sam in “The Lord of the Rings” franchise.
He was raised by his mother, famous actress Patty Duke, and his step-father John Astin, while his biological father is Michael Tell, a writer who worked for the newspaper The Las Vegas Israelite.
His parents were in marriage before Sean was born, which lasted 13 days, since Patty wasn’t sure who the father of the baby was because at the same time she was in relationships with Michael Tell and Desi Arnaz Junior, who was the famous actor and musician, back in the ’70s.
Patty married actor John Astin in 1972, and in 1973 gave birth to Sean’s brother Mackenzie, who is also an actor, and John adopted Sean, however, Patty divorced John and married Mike Pearce, so in the end, Sean has four fathers, and claims that he has a great relationship with each of them.

In 2001, he was cast to play Sam in “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”, which had 126 award nominations, and won 121, including four Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Make-up, Best Music – Original Score, and Best Visual Effects.
When Sean reprised his role as Sam in “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, he won the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA Saturn Award Best Supporting Actor, in 2004.
