Born as Michael Phillip Jagger on 26 July, 1943 in Dartford, Kent, England, the lead singer and co-founder of the famous band The Rolling Stones in 1962, has been active in his career since 1960. Mick is a record producer, too, and his talent has been acknowledged internationally as Jagger has received Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe, and is labelled as one of the most influential singers as regards rock ‘n roll music history. Hence, it is not surprising that Mick Jagger’s net worth is so big.

How rich is The Rolling Stones star Mick Jagger? Sources estimate that Mick Jagger has accumulated a net worth of $360 million from singing and songwriting, often in collaboration with fellow Stone Keith Richards.

Mick Jagger was educated at Dartford High School, and then at the London School of Economics, but dropped-out to concentrate on his musical career. Mick is the older brother of Chris, both sons of Eva Ensley Mary and Basil Fanshawe ‘Joe’ Jagger.  Chris also pursued a career in the music industry, releasing two albums in the 1970s, but Mick was always more successful in music. For that he is thankful for his hobby, as according to Mick, he has been singing since the day he came into this world, initially as a young boy who sang in a church choir.

The Rolling Stones were co-founded with Keith Richards, Mick`s childhood friend, a couple of years after leaving high school. At that time they were sharing an apartment, and met Brian Jones, who was to become a guitarist with The Rolling Stones. The new band made its debut performance in 1962 in London, with other members of the group including Tony Chapman, Dick Taylor and Ian Stewart; they say that the band was successful from the day it was founded.

Two years after its first performance, the band was labelled as even more popular than the Beatles. In the same year, The Rolling Stones released their first album, following the success of which the band has released over 20 more, achieving over 200 million confirmed sales, thus increasing Mick Jagger’s net worth. The group was initially influenced particularly by rock ‘n‘ roll and rhythm and blues artists such as Chuck Berry and Bo Diddeley, and performed cover versions of songs released by them and similar American musicians, but then Jagger and Richards began writing their own songs, which were inevitably successful, and contributed significantly to their net worth.

However, The Stones live performances have also been extremely successful, often ignited by Jagger’s dynamic gyrations on stage, which inevitably galvanized the fans wherever they played. Estimates have it that Stones tours typically gross over 300 million dollars, so comprise a very significant part of Mick’s income, and the other band members of course.

In his personal life, Mick Jagger has admitted to being a persona living against traditions and well-established cultural values. That Mick has had problems with drugs, along with other group members, and was first accused of using drugs in 1967 is a well-known fact, although luckily for them none of the group were arrested. However, the band did not dispense with drugs, with subsequent painful consequences – the band`s guitarist Brian Jones died as a result of a drug abuse in 1969, and other members of the Rolling Stones recovered slowly from the loss.

Regardless, Mick Jagger was somewhat controversially knighted by The Queen in 2002.

In his less-than-private personal life, Mick Jagger has been married twice, to Nicaraguan actress Bianca De Macias from 1971 to 78, and to American model Jerry Hall from 1990 to 99. He has also publicly been associated with several partners, including with fashion designer L’Wren Scott from 2001 until her death by suicide in 2014, and Melanie Hamrick since 2014. He has seven acknowledged children. Mick Jagger still has his main residence in London.
