Lana Michele Moorer was born on the 11th October 1970, in Brooklyn, New York City USA. She is a hip hop artist better known under the nickname MC Lyte. She was the first solo female rapper, who released the studio album “Lyte as a Rock” (1988). She was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by BET during the Hip Hop Inaugural Ball in 2013.
