Joey Kramer Net Worth $100 Million

To begin with, he is the son of Mickey Kramer, a soldier and seller, and Doris Shwartz, a former army nurse. Being 14 years old, he saw the Beatles on TV and decided to become a musician, forming his first band, The Dynamics. He learned to play drums alone, while listening to records of the Beatles, Kinks and Dave Clark Five. In 1964, he joined the band The Medallions, then when he entered Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, he became a part of the King Bees. Afterwards, Joey was invited to play for the Strawberry Ripple. In 1969, he moved to Boston.

In 1970, Kramer entered Berklee College of Music, but dropped out of school three months later. The same year he joined Aerosmith and signed a contract with Columbia Records; the albums “Aerosmith” (1973) and “Get Your Wings” (1974) were released, did not have the expected impact, but in 1975 and 1976 Aerosmith respectively released “Toys in the Attic” and “Rocks”, which burst on the charts worldwide. At this time, all members of the band were abusing drugs, which began to reflect on their live performances. However, they launched the highly successful album “Draw the Line” in 1977, then in 1979 “Night in the Rut”, followed in 1982 by “Rock in a Hard Place”, all of which achieved great prominence, adding significantly to Kramer’s net worth.

Afterwards, the band experienced a decline. In 1986, they made a cover of one of Aerosmith’s classic songs “Walk This Way”, which led the group back into the spotlight. The following year, they released “Permanent Vacation”, known today as the greatest return to the top in music history. In 1993, they released their biggest commercial success to date, “Get a Grip”, which sold over 20 million copies. The band’s music videos career had tremendous success on MTV too, which earned them dozens of awards. In 1998, the band recorded the song “I Do Not Want to Miss a Thing”, the main theme of the movie “Armageddon”, becoming the first hit of the band to debut in #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. With the immediate success of their “Honkin’ On Bobo” album (2004) the band went on tour to promote their work to a new generation.

In 2012, the group released “Music from Another Dimension!”, but in 2014, while on the tour “Let Rock Rule”, Joey had a heart problem. As a result, the band cancelled the show in Concord and replaced Kramer in the following two shows with his son, Jesse Kramer, who is also drummer. Joey returned to his activities with the group after a few months.

Finally, in the personal life of the musician, he has married twice, firstly to April Kramer (1979 – 2007) and the secondly to Linda Kramer (2009 – present). He has two children.
