These have included “The Truth with Jeff Johnson”, and frequent appearances in the show “Rap City”. During his years as a host, Jeff has interviewed many notable personalities, including ex-president Barack Obama, Senator Hillary Clinton and Louis Farrakhan, among others. Most notably, Jeffrey has interviewed Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Liberia and Africa’s first elected female president, the only US reporter to do so, and Sudanese president Omar Al-Bashir, who refuses all other requests from the American media.

While on the BET network, for his efforts Jeff won the 2008 NABJ Salute to Excellence Award for BET’s “Life & Death in Darfur, Jeff Johnson Reports” series.

Thanks to his prominence on the BET network, he has consistently been approached by other popular networks, such as TV’s CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and radio channels XM radio, Sirius Satellite Radio, and many others, for which he has provided political, social, racial and economic commentaries over the last 15 years.

Aside from working on television, Jeff is also the Managing Principal of JIJ Communications, through which he provides strategic counseling, with some of his clients including the massive corporation Google, and Oppenheimer Funds, among others.

Regarding his personal life, Jeff is married to Jacqueline and has a daughter and two sons with her.

He is recognized for his philanthropic activities too, being on the boards of several organizations including Vote Run Lead, African-American Philanthropy Committee, and Lincoln Theatre in Columbus, Ohio.
