She was born to Violeta Flores Lopez and her husband Jose Augusto Navarro Flores. She spent her first seven years of life in her native country, but after the political fallout in Nicaragua, Ana and her family moved to the US, settling in Florida where Ana went to Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, a private Catholic college preparatory day school for girls located in Coconut Grove. After matriculation, Ana enrolled at the University of Miami, from which she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies and Political Science, and then furthered her studies by enrolling at St. Thomas University Law School, from which she earned a Juris Doctor degree.

Soon after finishing her studies, Ana launched her career by joining the Government of Nicaragua in 1997 as a special advisor. She then joined the Republican Party, and worked in several administrations, most notably for Jeb Bush in 1998. Throughout the years she has been on teams for various campaigns, including serving as the national co-chair of the Hispanic Advisory Council for John McCain in 2008, while four years later she was in the same position, but this time for Jon Huntsman. In the most recent presidential election, she endorsed Jeb Bush’s campaign.

Since then, Ana has provided comments and strategies on and for Republican candidates, which earned her a spot on CNN’s team, and has also worked for ABC News. Since 2014 she has often been seen on ABC, while from 2015 Ana started working for CNN and CNN en Español, appearing in a number of talk shows. From 2015 until 2017, Ana was a Powerhouse Roundtable Panelist in the show “This Week”, and served as a correspondent for the “Anderson Cooper 360°” show. However, she is best known to the world for working as a correspondent in the TV show “New Day”, and also for “CNN Newsroom”, and most recently Ana joined “CNN Tonight”, all of which increased her net worth by a large margin.

A life-long Republican, following the rise of Trump Ana decided to give her voice to his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.
