Who is Luke Grimes?
Luke Timothy Grimes was born in Dayton, Ohio USA on 21 January 1984 – his zodiac sign is Aquarius, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor with close to 30 credits to his name, perhaps known best for his portrayal of Elliot Grey in the 2015 romantic thriller movie “Fifty Shades of Grey”, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, and which starred Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan and Jennifer Ehle. It follows student Anastasia Steele who’s fallen in love with billionaire Christian Grey, and the movie won nine of the 39 awards for which it was nominated, including an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song.
Early life and education
Luke was raised in Dayton alongside his three older siblings, by their father who was a Pentecostal pastor, and their mother who’s a housewife.
He became interested in acting while attending Dayton Christian High School; Luke was a member of its drama club, and appeared in many plays performed at the school, as well as several performed at a local theatre. He was also highly sporting during his four years there, as he played both soccer and basketball for school teams.
Upon matriculating in 2002, Luke moved to New York City and enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, from which he graduated with a BA degree in acting in 2005.
Roles in movies
Luke made his debut film appearance with his portrayal of Jake in the popular 2006 mystery horror thriller “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane”, directed by Jonathan Levine, and which starred Amber Heard, Anson Mount and Whitney Able. It follows the innocent and desirable girl Mandy Lane who’s been invited to a party on an isolated ranch; the movie was nominated for a Golden Trailer Award for Best Horror.
A couple of Luke’s following roles were in the 2007 drama “War Eagle, Arkansas”, the 2008 mystery crime comedy “Assassination of a High School President” and the 2010 drama “Shit Year”. The year 2013 saw him play Jamie in the critically acclaimed action crime thriller “Taken 2”, directed by Olivier Megaton, and which starred Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace. Luke’s also known for his portrayal of Marc Lee in the popular 2014 biographical action drama “American Sniper”, directed by Clint Eastwood, and which starred Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller and Kyle Gallner. It follows the life of Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, and the movie won 25 awards, including an Oscar for Best Achievement in Sound Editing, while it was nominated for 43 other awards.
Three of Luke’s most recent film roles have been in the 2017 western crime comedy “El Camino Christmas”, the 2018 romantic thriller drama “Fifty Shades Freed”, and the 2019 action crime thriller “Into the Ashes”; he’s currently shooting for the upcoming movie “Happiness for Beginners”.

Luke’s appeared in only three TV series. He played Ryan Lafferty in 35 episodes of the popular drama “Brothers & Sisters”, created by Jon Robin Baitz, and which starred Dave Annable, Calista Flockhart and Rachel Griffiths – it follows the lives of several siblings, the series aired from 2006 to 2011 (Luke joined the cast in 2009), and won 16 of the 51 awards for which it was nominated.
He then played James in six episodes of the fantasy mystery drama “True Blood” in 2013, and since 2018, Luke’s been portraying Kayce Dutton, one of the lead characters in the critically acclaimed western drama “Yellowstone”. Love life and wife
Luke prefers to keep the details of his love life away from the media’s attention, but it’s still widely known that he’s a married man. Since 2018, he’s been married to American model and social media star Bianca Rodrigues Grimes; she’s today followed by close to 250,000 people on Instagram, and has uploaded over 60 pictures onto the network, the majority of which feature her during her everyday life.
The two haven’t spoken about the circumstances under which they met, but it’s believed that they were introduced by a mutual friend at a party in 2016. They don’t have children, and while this is believed to be because they’re both focused on their careers, some fans have claimed that perhaps one of the two is infertile; this hasn’t been addressed by Luke or Bianca.
Luke hasn’t mentioned any other women whom he’s perhaps been with, and as of August 2022, he’s married to Bianca Rodrigues Grimes, and they don’t have children together.

Luke isn’t a big fan of social media networks, and although he has an Instagram account which is followed by close to 200,000 people, he hasn’t uploaded a single picture onto it.
He’s revealed that he dislikes ‘organized religion’.
Luke’s physically highly active, mostly because it’s important for his acting career to stay in shape; he has multiple training sessions at the gym every week, and also follows a strict diet.
He’s passionate about travelling, and his career’s taken him to various US states and European countries, while he’s also been to Australia, Africa and Asia; his dream travel destination’s Cairo, Egypt.
Luke’s a huge lover of animals, with kangaroos and dogs being his favorites.
He has his own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp, while some of his favorite movies are “The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, the franchise “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Edward Scissorhands”.
