Raymond Francis Magliozzi was born on 30 March 1949, in Cambridge, Massachusetts USA, and is a radio show host, best known for being the co-host of the weekly radio show “Car Talk” on NPR, which he co-hosted alongside his brother Tom Magliozzi. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Ray Magliozzi? As of mid-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $1.5 million, mostly earned through success on the radio. “Car Talk” was honored with a Peabody Award in 1992. They were also “Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers” in an animated series, aside from other successful endeavors. All of these achievements have ensured the position of his wealth.

Ray attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – which his brother also attended – and graduated with a degree in humanities and science. He then taught science in Bennington, Vermont before returning to Cambridge. Alongside his brother, they opened Hacker’s Haven, a do-it-yourself repair shop, with the goal of renting space and equipment to people trying to fix their own cars – it wasn’t successful, but it did lead them to be a part of a panel of automotive experts for WBUR-FM. They then converted their shop to a standard auto-repair shop called Good News Garage.

In 1987, the brothers were asked by Susan Stamberg to be contributors to her weekly program “Weekend Edition”. After nine months, the “Car Talk” segment became an independent NPR program. The show proved successful and increased their net worth significantly, leading to a 1992 Peabody Award, after which they were invited to MIT to deliver a joint commencement speech. They continued to work in their business while producing episodes of “Car Talk”; the show was created in the form of a call-in radio show, with listeners calling in to ask questions about vehicle repair and maintenance. The show became very popular thanks to their jokes, and their eventual resolution of the caller’s problem.

In 2006, they made an appearance in the film “Cars” as the owners of Rust-eze; Ray played a 1964 Dodge A100 van, and the film won a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film. The two also appeared in “Cars 3” though Tom only reprised his role through archive recordings since it was after his death. They also appeared in an episode of the PBS Kids show “Arthur”.

In 2008, they started “Click and Clack’s As the Wrench Turns”, their own animated series, playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The show followed the adventures of their brothers from their auto repair shop Car Talk Plaza, with Ray voicing Clack while Tom voiced Click. They also hosted an episode of the show “NOVA”. “Car Talk” stopped producing new episodes in 2012.

For his personal life, it is known that Ray is married to Monique, and they have two children. Tom Magliozzi passed away in 2014 due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. “Car Talk” still continues to have reruns on NPR, but is apparently set to end its airing in September 2017.
