Dos Santos grew up with football running in his blood; his father, Zizinho, is a Brazilian football player who used to play for Mexican football clubs America and Leon, while his mother is from Mexico. With his father’s background, he was soon playing football himself, and later on was recruited by the Spanish club FC Barcelona.
After years of training with FC Barcelona and playing for their B team until he was 18, Dos Santos made his way through their senior squad in 2007. His performance with the team made some news, landing him a spot in World Soccer Magazine’s Top 50 Most Exciting Teen Footballers.

After one season with Barcelona, Dos Santos was transferred to English Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur, where he could have more playing time and exposure. He played with the team from 2008 to 2012, but with most of his time spent being loaned to Ipswich Town, Galatasaray and Racing Santander. However, his years with the team started to garner him some success and also started to build his wealth.

In 2012, Dos Santos was sold by Tottenham Hotspur to Mallorca, playing with the team for one year, before being transferred to Villarreal. His various teams also helped him with his net worth and popularity. Most recently, in 2015, Dos Santos transferred to Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy.

Another one of Dos Santos’ feats is playing in the Mexican national team. He was part of the under-17 national team that won the 2005 U17 World Cup in Peru, then became part of the team that played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Two years later, his team won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics, then he was called up to play at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Some of his recognitions in playing football have included winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2009, 2011 and 2015. He also won the MVP award in 2009.

In terms of his personal life, Dos Santos is apparently still single, with no sign of a permanent relationship.
