Have you ever wondered how rich Baker Mayfield is, as of early 2018? Though Mayfield hasn’t yet turned professional, his scholarship for the University of Oklahoma has earned him a solid amount of $200,000, according to authoritative sources.

For his high school education, Baker went to Lake Travis High School, and played football for the Cavaliers. In four seasons, he became one of the best in the class, compiling a record of 6,255 passing yards for 67 touchdowns, but also had eight interceptions. He won the 2011 4A State Championship with the team.

Thanks to his successful plays, Baker was ranked as a three-star recruit, and committed to Texas Tech University. He started playing football for the Red Raiders and became the starting quarterback, due to the injury of Michael Brewer, his former teammate at the high school. Unfortunately, Baker spent only one season at Texas Tech University, following a miscommunication with the coaching staff, and as a result, transferred to the University of Oklahoma. However, he left his mark in just eight games, winning the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year honors.

In 2014 as a student at the University of Oklahoma, he joined the Oklahoma Sooners team, although he wasn’t eligible for the first season due to transfer rules. So after sitting out the 2014 season, Baker returned to the field in 2015 as the starting quarterback, and in his first season, he had 3,700 passing yards for 36 touchdowns and suffered just seven interceptions, earning him several honors, including Burlsworth Trophy, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, First-team All-American, and First-team All-Big 12, among other awards.

He continued to improve, and in 2016 had 3,965 passing yards for 40 touchdowns, while 2017 season was his best, as he completed 262 passes for 4,340 yards and 41 touchdowns. This earned him several other recognitions, such as the Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, Davey O’Brien Award, and other honors.

Since his college career has finished with a tremendous year, he is now projected as a top 10 pick, or maybe top 11 as anticipated at the NFL Draft in April 2018, and will probably be chosen by the Denver Broncos or Miami Dolphins, with the latter team having more chances to sign the bright prospect. However, Baker has stated that he won’t be present at the Draft, as he has other plans.

When it comes to his personal life, back in February 2017 Baker had problems with the law, as he was brought down for intoxication and fleeing charges, which eventually resulted in 35 hours of community service, while also having to undergo an alcohol education program. In regards to his love life, Baker is in a relationship with Morgan Mayberry.
