She’s appeared in more than 60 movies and TV series, and is perhaps still known best for her portrayal of the main character Summer, in the 2009 romantic comedy movie “500 Days of Summer”. It was directed by Marc Webb, also starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Geoffrey Arend, and follows a young man who has fallen in love with a girl who doesn’t believe in love; the movie won 17 of the 75 awards for which it was nominated.

Zooey was raised in Los Angeles alongside her sister Emily, by their mother Mary Jo Deschanel (nee Weir) who’s an actress and is still active in the film industry, and their father Joseph Caleb Deschanel who’s an American cinematographer and film director. Zooey’s sister Emily has also become a popular actress, and is perhaps known best for her lead role in the crime series “Bones”.

Zooey studied at the private preparatory school Crossroads in Santa Monica, California, and was mostly interested in singing during her time there. Upon matriculating in 1998, she enrolled at Northwestern University, but quit after less than a year, wanting to pursue her acting career.

Who is Elsie’s father Jacob Pechenik?

Jacob Pechenik was born in San Antonio, Texas USA, on 16 June 1972 – his zodiac sign is Gemini, and he holds American nationality. He has produced close to 20 movies, while he’s probably known best for his work on the 2015 mystery crime movie “Solace”, directed by Afonso Poyart, and which starred Anthony Hopkins, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Abbie Cornish. The film follows the psychic John Clancy who’s helping the FBI to catch a serial killer; it won a 2017 Golden Camera, Germany Award for Best International Actor, for Colin Farrell.

Jacob hasn’t shared many details regarding his childhood with the public, but it’s said that his parents were both involved in the film industry, and that he doesn’t have siblings.

He became interested in movies while attending a local high school, and upon matriculating in 1990, Jacob enrolled at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1994.

He then founded the company TechTrader with his friends, and Jacob became CEO. After a couple of years, he started his new company Yellow Jacket Software, which was purchased by Intercontinental Exchange after several years.

Some of Jacob’s other notable works have been the 2013 crime thriller “Cold Comes the Night”, the 2014 romantic comedy drama “The Skeleton Twins”, and the 2015 musical war comedy “Rock the Kasbah”.
