He spent three years there and during that period he won awards such as the 1993 Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year, as well as being named to the A-10 all-tournament team in his senior year. He also won the Robert V. Geasey Trophy. He finished his college career with 1,650 points from 92 games, becoming the sixth player on the school’s all-time scoring list.

In no time Aaron’s professional playing career began, when he was selected in the 1994 NBA Draft as the 17th overall pick in the first round by the Portland Trail Blazers, so he signed a rookie contract, which marked the beginning of his net worth. He played for the team from 1994 to 1997. He then signed a contract with the Detroit Pistons, but played just 70 games there, then went on to continue his playing career as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. During his stint there, Aaron started to achieve noticeable results, which earned him the NBA Sixth Man of the Year title in the 2000-2001 season; before him, that honor was earned only by Bobby Jones of the 76ers in 1983. In the following season, he became one of the most important players in the NBA Finals-bound team, along with his teammates Allen Iverson and Eric Snow. In August of 2005, Aaron was waived by the team, so he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, so further increasing his net worth, and he appeared in 25 games with the team, before  finishing his professional playing career in 2007 with 5,871 points, 2,587 rebounds and 2,126 assists.

After retirement, Aaron decided to stay in the sports industry and to pursue his basketball career further as an assistant coach, so he returned to the Philadelphia 76ers and there began his coaching career in 2007. During the following year, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, however, in the same year he was released by the team and rejoined the 76ers, where he worked until 2013, increasing further his net worth. In 2014, Aaron left the NBA and joined Temple University’s basketball team to continue his professional career as a coach under Fran Dunphy’s mentorship.
