Miku Patricia Martineau was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on 14 September 2004, so Virgo’s her zodiac sign. She’s had roles in eight movies and TV series, and is perhaps known best for his debut film role playing one of the main characters Ani in the 2021 action crime adventure movie “Kate”, directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, and which also starred Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson. It follows an assassin who’s been tasked with killing a member of a yakuza clan, but has now been poisoned and will die in 24 hours; the film was nominated for an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award for Best Edited Motion Picture – Non-Theatrical.

Education and early life

Miku and her brother Kai Martineau were raised in Toronto by their Japanese mother Kumiko and Canadian father Peter, who met in Canada; not a lot has been disclosed about Miku’s parents, because they prefer to stay away from media, but it’s believed that Kumiko’s a housewife, and that Peter’s a firefighter.

Miku studied at a local high school, and was 11 when she fell in love with acting, after she began watching TV series with her mother. She went on to attend Randolph School, and was interested in a number of activities during her four years there, including appearing in school plays and playing sports with her peers.

She launched her acting career while still at Randolph, voicing Lina in the 2020 episode “Lina’s Limo” of the animated drama “Carl’s Car Wash”, which has been airing since 2016, stars Andy Hayward, Jamie Carr and Ashlie White, and follows various vehicles which come to the same car wash.

Miku matriculated in 2022 and hasn’t enrolled at college, as she’s focusing on her acting career.

Roles in TV series

Miku voiced both Chloe and Sandy in seven episodes of the animated family drama “Finny the Shark”, which starred Gabriel Francis, Andrew Hodwitz and Tara Stocker, and follows the lives of several sharks; the series was nominated for a Joey Award for Best Female Voice Over Performance Age 8-11 years (Gabriela Francis).

Miku’s only other TV series role has been playing Amy Fitzgerald in the 2022 episode “I Wish She Would Trust Me” of the family fantasy “Ruby and the Well”, created by Brian J. Adams and LeeAnne H. Adams, and which stars Zoe Wiesenthal, Kristopher Turner and Lina Sennia. It follows Ruby O’Reilly and her friends Sam and Mina who’ve discovered a magic well, and have been made its new keepers; the series has been airing since 2022 and has won one of its four award nominations.

Roles in movies

Miku starred as Katsumi in the 2021 short drama “What We Do with Witches”, written and directed by Mario Moreira, and which also starred Alesa Mileto and Olivia Piercey. It follows a group of people as they’re showing to the audience how they treat witches.

Miku’s appeared in only one other movie: she played Christine in the 2022 romantic comedy “Honor Society”, directed by Oran Zegman, and which starred Angourie Rice, Gaten Matarazzo and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. It tells the story of Honor whose main goal is to be accepted into Harvard University, while she’s now fallen in love with her biggest competitor; the movie won a 2023 Writers Guild of America Award for TV & New Media Motion Pictures.

Miku’s currently shooting for the upcoming short movie “Tipping Uber Alice”.
