Angela Unkrich is an American writer, actress, blogger and social media celebrity, probably best known as the author of ‘My Mommyhood Tales’, and as American’s Funniest Home Videos host Alfonso Ribeiro.
Early life, family, educational background
Angela Unkrich was born on 4 February 1981, in Swedesburg, Henry County, Iowa USA. She grew up with her two brothers Brendon and Tyson on a hog and cattle farm, raised by their parents and Stanley and Valerie Sue Unkrich.
Angela attended Waco High School in Wayland, Iowa, where she excelled at diving, earning lots of accolades for her performances.

Some of the titles she earned were Outstanding Diver of Iowa, All-state Performer, and Conference Athlete of the Year. She won the USA Diving State Championship and was a medal winner at the Iowa State Diving Championships. After graduating from high school, Angela enrolled at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and graduated with a BA in Communication Studies. While a university student, she continued to participate in several sports activities, including gymnastics, springboard diving, track events and basketball. Most notably, she was an important member of the university’s diving team, and the National Honor Society’s vice president.

After completing her studies, she went to Los Angeles where she had a variety of jobs, including a script writer assistant, private jet hostess, and diving coach.
It is worthy of mention that she has acting experience, as well. In 2002 she played in ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!’, in 2012 she was featured in ‘Home & Family’, and in 2019 she played the role of Alice in the short drama ‘Para Veronica (For Her)’.
After becoming a mother, she focused more on her writing and blogging career, and released the book ‘My Mommyhood Tales’ for which she received a lot of online attention and positive feedback.
Personal life, husband Alfonso Ribeiro
Angela Unkrich and Alfonso Ribeiro met in 2011 and after dating for only several months, became engaged in July 2012 and held their wedding on 13 October 2012, in Los Angeles at Burbank’s Lakeside Gold Club, packed with celebrities, including groomsman Will Smith, who was assisted by David Justice and Joey Fatone.
Angela is the proud mother of three children with her husband; Alfonso Lincoln Ribeiro Jr. who they call AJ for short was born on 27 October 2013. Their second son named Anders Reyn was born on 30 April 2015, and they welcomed their third child Ava Sue, born on 13 May 2019.

Alfonso Ribeiro was born on 21 September 1971 in The Bronx, New York City USA, and made his first appearance in show business at the age of eight. His first major childhood acting role came in the production of ‘The Tap Dance Kid’, for which he was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award. In 1984, he appeared as a dancer with Michael Jackson in a Pepsi commercial, and in the same year was cast in the TV series ‘Silver Spoons’ as Rick Schroder’s best friend.
In 1990, Alfonso scored his breakthrough role as Carlton Banks, Will Smith’s lead character in the TV series ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’, and was in the show until 1996.
In 1994 he started voice acting in the ‘Spider-Man’ TV series, as Robbie Robertson and Randy Robertson. From 1996 to 1999 he played the role of Dr. Maxwell Stanton in ‘In the House’. Later, he was a competitive singer in ‘Celebrity Duets’, a reality TV show, in which he was the final victor over Lucy Lawless.
In 2008 he began hosting ‘Catch 21’ and on Game Show Network’s ‘GSN Live’.
