Who is Andrea Barber?

Andrea Laura Barber was born under the zodiac sign of Cancer on 3 July 1976, in Los Angeles, California USA; she holds American nationality, and her ethnicity is Caucasian. She’s an actress with over 15 credits to her name, perhaps still known best for her role as Kimmy Gibbler in the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) sitcom “Full House”, starring Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and John Stamos.

Early life and education

Andrea was raised in Los Angeles alongside her two older brothers Justin and Darin, by their parents Donald and Sherry; her mother died in January 2021 from a lung disease.

Andrea attended La Serna High School, in Whittier, California, and upon matriculating in 1994, she enrolled at Whittier College, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English, in 1999; she also studied at the University of York, England, from which she holds a Master of Arts degree.

After her debut role as Amanda Gorman in an episode of the series “Fantasy Island” in 1983, Andrea made appearances in “St. Elsewhere”, and “The Twilight Zone”, before she was cast to play Carrie Brady in “Days of Our Lives” acting alongside Kristian Alfonso, Deidre Hall and Frances Reid in this romantic drama about lives, trials and loves of the citizens of the fictional city Salem; the series had 507 award nominations, including four for Primetime Emmys, and won 231.

In 1985, Andrea was nominated for Young Artist Award Best Young Supporting Actress in a Daytime or Nightime Drama, and ’86 for Young Artist Award Outstanding Young Actress – Regular Daytime Serial; she won Soap Opera Digest Awards Outstanding Youth Actress in a Daytime Soap Opera and Outstanding Youth Actress in a Daytime Serial.

In the following years, she had minor roles in the series “The Magical World of Disney”, “Our House”, and “Growing Pains”, and after that she was cast to play one of her most significant roles as Kimmy Gibbler in “Full House”, which had 20 award nominations and won 16; Andrea was nominated for three Young Artist Awards, two for Best Young Actress Co-starring in a Television Series, and one for Best Youth Comedienne in a TV Show.

She portrayed Sylvia in “Minutiae”, starring alongside Juan Pablo Di Pace and Jack Plotnick, and her most recent role has been as Principal Willingham in the Nickelodeon series “That Girl Lay Lay”, in 2021.

Andrea made her debut on the big screen portraying Jennifer  in the 1985 movie “Do You Remember Love”, starring alongside Richard Kiley and Joanne Woodward in this romantic drama, which had 15 award nominations and won eight, including three Primetime Emmys.

After almost a decade, she was cast to play Tilly Curtis in “The Skateboard Kid 2”, and then had a few minor roles in short movies such as “To Grandmother’s House We Go” and “It’s F*Ckin’ Late with Dave Coulier”, a short comedy in which she appeared as Kimmy Gibbler.

Love life and relationships

In her vlogs, her children and her boyfriend can be seen, mostly during the Coronavirus quarantine.

She likes to travel, and thanks to her acting career, has visited a couple of US states – her favorite travel destination is Las Vegas, Nevada, and she’s dreaming of visiting Paris, France.

Andrea is an animal lover, and has a pet dog named Holly, which she rescued from an illegal backyard breed, and saying that Holly saved her from a broken heart on her first Christmas alone as a single mother.
