Avery Johnson was born on the 25th March 1965, in New Orleans, Louisiana USA, and is a retired professional basketball player, who spent his career in the NBA playing for six different teams, including the Seattle SuperSonics, Houston Texans, Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs, among others. Avery began playing basketball and fell in love with the game at St. Augustine High School; in his last season he was the best player, and helped the team to a season without a loss, 35-0. After high school he enrolled at New Mexico Junior College, then spent a year at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, before transferring to Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
