Who is Jeremy Sisto?

American actor, movie writer and producer Jeremy Merton Sisto was born in Grass Valley, California USA, on 6 October 1974, under the zodiac sign of Libra. He’s appeared in more than 110 movies and TV series, and is probably still best known for his portrayal of Scott in the evergreen 2003 horror thriller movie “Wrong Turn”, directed by Rob Schmidt, and in which he starred alongside Eliza Dushku and Emmanuelle Chriqui. It follows five people who’re stranded deep in the woods, and the movie was nominated for three awards.

Jeremy’s still today quite active in the film industry, and is currently shooting for the upcoming fantasy mystery movie “Captain Tsunami’s Army”.

Early life and education

American jazz musician Richard ‘Dick’ Sisto and his American actress wife Reedy Gibbs raised their son Jeremy in Louisville, Kentucky, alongside his older sister Meadow Sisto, born on 30 September 1972, and who’s also become a successful actress. Following his parents’ divorce when he was seven, Jeremy and Meadow moved with their mother to Chicago, Illinois.

He became interested in acting while attending Hayfield Montessori School, and transferred to Francis W. Parker School upon moving to Chicago, while he practiced acting at both the Absolute Theater Company and Cherry Street Theatre.


Jeremy was 16 when he made his debut film appearance, portraying Roberto in the popular 1991 crime drama “Grand Canyon”, written and directed by Lawrence Kasdan, and which starred Danny Glover, Steve Martin and Kevin Kline. It follows several people whose paths have intertwined, and the film won three of its 11 award nominations, including an Oscar nomination for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.

Jeremy matriculated in 1993 and then enrolled at University of California, Los Angeles, but dropped out after less than a year, wanting to focus on acting.

Roles in movies

Jeremy played Josh Ryan in the 1992 drama “Desperate Choices: To Save My Child”, and a couple of his following roles were in 1994, in the thriller drama “The Crew” and the family fantasy comedy “The Shaggy Dog”, and the 1995 romantic comedy drama “Moonlight and Valentino”.

What marked the ‘90s for Jeremy was perhaps his playing of T. K. in the 1997 crime comedy drama “Suicide Kings”, directed by Peter O’Fallon, and which starred Christopher Walken, Denis Leary and Sean Patrick Flanery. It follows a group of young men who’ve kidnapped an important mafia member.

Jeremy portrayed Larry Pogue, Sr. in the 2001 romantic drama “Angel Eyes”, and he could then have been seen playing Jackie in the 2002 drama “Robbing ‘Hef”, Mica in the 2003 romantic comedy “Manfast” and Simon in the 2004 horror mystery “One Point O”.

He played Jimmy in the 2008 drama “Gardens of the Night”, written and directed by Damian Harris, and which starred Gillian Jacobs, John Malkovich and Ryan Simpkins. The year 2015 saw him play the lead character Aaron in the horror thriller “Hangman”, written and directed by Adam Mason, and which also starred Kate Ashfield and Ryan Simpkins. It follows the Millers who’ve just returned from their vacation, and have found that their house has been broken into.

Jeremy’s debut TV series appearance was in the 1996 episode “Familiar Bonds” of the short drama “Out of Order”, and the remainder of the ‘90s saw him play and voice characters in an episode of the animated adventure comedy “Rugrats” (voice role), the drama “Real Life”, and another drama “The ‘60s”.

In 2003, he was cast to star as Gaius Julius Caesar in the critically acclaimed biographical historical mini-series “Caesar”, which also starred Richard Harris and Christopher Walken, and follows 20-year-old Julius Caesar fleeing Rome, and returning as dictator 40 years later; the mini-series won one of its eight award nominations.

Jeremy played Billy Chenowith in 31 episodes of the hit comedy drama “Six Feet Under”, which Allan Ball created, and which starred Frances Conroy, Michael C. Hall and Peter Krause. It follows a dysfunctional family from Los Angeles, the series aired from 2001 to 2005, and won 70 of its 236 award nominations, including nine Primetime Emmy wins.

He appeared in an episode of a couple of series in the remainder of the 2000s, such as the fantasy horror drama “Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King”, the mystery crime drama “Numb3rs” and the romantic comedy “My Boys”.

Between 2011 and 2014, Jeremy portrayed George Altman in the hit comedy “Suburgatory”, which Emily Kapnek created, and in which he starred alongside Jane Levy. It follows a young girl who’s moved with her father to Chatswin from a big city, and the series won one of its nine award nominations.

Jeremy’s three most recent TV series roles have been in 83 episodes of the action crime drama “FBI” since 2018. in the 2020 episode “Buster Olive in: The Monkey Got Closer Overnight” of the short animated adventure “Robot Chicken” (voice role), and the 2022 episode “Chew Toy” of the action crime adventure “FBI: International”.

Jeremy received special thanks for the 2005 drama movie “The Aviary” and the 2013 action thriller drama “Deep Dark Canyon”.

He has two writing, seven producing and one directing credit. His producing debut was the 1997 short film “Three Women of Pain”, and he then wrote, produced and directed the 2010 short drama movie “Asleep in the Park”. A couple of Jeremy’s most recent producing credits include the 2013 documentary musical movie “Kids Like You & Me”, the 2014 sports comedy film “Break Point”, and the 2015 horror thriller movie “Hangman”.

Jeremy exchanged vows with famous American actress Marisa Ryan on 30 August 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada, when both were 18l; Marisa’s appeared in over 50 movies and TV series, and is perhaps still best known for her playing of Abby in the 2001 romantic comedy movie “Wet Hot American Summer”.

Jeremy and Marisa split just two days following their wedding, but their divorce wasn’t finalized until 21 June 2002.

He began dating American actress Addie Lane sometime in the second half of the 2000s, and she gave birth to their daughter Charlie-Ballerina Sisto on 5 June 2009; Jeremy and Addie exchanged vows on 14 October 2009, after which she gave birth to their son Sebastian Kick Sisto on 9 March 2012. The family of four’s today living in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles.

Jeremy’s married to his second wife Addie Lane as of September 2022, and has two children with her.

Hobbies and other interests

Jeremy’s into music, and released his album “Escape Tailor” in 2012; he wrote nearly all of the songs’ lyrics, produced the album, and played the guitar.
