Devon grew up in a family of five, the youngest child born to Edward Sawa, a mechanic, and his wife, Joyce Sawa, who is a producer known for her work on such projects as the TV series “Million Dollar Neighborhood” (2012), and the film “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” (2018).
Devon became interested in acting at an early age, and joined a local community theater in his childhood. He attended Ecole Alpha Secondary School, and later graduated from Vancouver Film School.
