Who is Mario Cimarro?

A musician, producer, and an actor with nearly 30 credits to his name, who’s had an opportunity to work with the top American and Spanish writers, directors and actors since he launched his acting career in 1995, Mario Antonio Cimarro Paz was born under the zodiac sign of Gemini on 1 June 1971, in Havana, Cuba; his nationality is Cuban, and his ethnicity is Latino.

In 2002, he was seen as Luis Armando Arismendi in “Gata Salvaje”, which is one of his most notable roles, and the series was nominated for INTE Award Soap of the Year (Contenidos: Telenovela del año), which is considered the most important award for Spanish language television series.

Three years later, Mario portrayed Salvador Cerinza in “El Cuerpo del Deseo”, and then in 2008, he was seen as Hugo de Medina in “Betrayed”, which was his first role in the American production series. In the following years, he starred in “Curse by the Sea”, “Los Heredores del Monte”, and “Necessary Roughness”, which was his first role in the English language.

In 2016, Mario was seen as Inspector Antonio Avelica in “Vuelve Temprano”, his most recent television role, but as mentioned, currently you can see him in “Pasion de Gavilanes 2”.

Mario made his first big-screen appearance portraying Capulet Bouncer in the 1996 Oscar-nominated “Romeo + Juliet”, also starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes and John Leguizamo; this romantic drama based on the play “Romeo & Juliet” by William Shakespeare, had 29 award nominations, including one for the Oscar Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, and won 15.

In the following year, Mario starred in “Managua”, followed by his role as Pablo in “La Conexion Cubana” in 1998, and then after almost a decade, he was seen as Juju in “Rockaway”, an action crime drama written and directed by Josh and Jeff Crook.

In 2012, he was cast to play Andres in “Mediterranean Blue”, also starring Tony Tarantino, Adrian Mas and Celines Toribio, and was then seen as Dominic in “The Black Russian” and as El Patron in “The Zwickys”, in 2013, and ’14.
