Who is Kellie Martin?
American actress, movie producer and director Kellie Noelle Martin was born in Riverside, California USA, on 16 October 1975, thus making her zodiac sign Libra. She’s had roles in nearly 80 movies and TV series, and is probably still best known for her playing Lucy Knight (1998-2000) in the popular romantic series “ER”, which Michael Crichton created, and which starred Julianna Margulies, George Clooney and Anthony Edwards. The series follows the people working at the County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, it aired from 1994 to 2009 and won 179 of its 549 award nominations.
Kellie’s still active in the film industry, and has just recently finished shooting for the upcoming drama movie “An Amish Sin”.

Kellie and her sister Heather were raised in Riverside, by their father Doug Martin who was a retail executive, and their mother Debbie (nee Jett) who was a kindergarten teacher; Heather died in 1998 after having lost her battle against Lupus, which caused Kellie to leave the series “ER”.
Kellie was somewhat thrown into the film industry, as she was only two when cast to voice a character in the 1978 episode “To Switch a Witch” of the animated family adventure series “The Scooby-Doo Show”; it was four years later that she began winning more roles, and she’s been active in the film industry since then.

She gained recognition in 1987 and 1988, when she played Tracy Nash in the family comedy “Valerie”, which Charlie Hauck created, and which starred Dan Ponce, Jeremy Licht and Jason Bateman. It follows a mother of three boys as she’s raising them alone now that her pilot husband’s away; the series aired from 1986 to 1991 and won two of its 15 award nominations.

Between 2003 and 2007, she starred as Samantha Kinsey in the drama “Mystery Woman”, created by Michael Sloan, and which also starred Clarence Williams III and Nina Siemaszko. It follows mystery bookshop owner Samantha as she’s helping her police detective friend solve murders.
Kellie could then have been seen playing Julie Zelman in the 2009 episode “No Good at Saying Sorry (One More Chance)” of the romantic drama “Grey’s Anatomy”, Army Captain Nicole Galassin in eight episodes of the 2012 romantic war drama “Army Wives”, and Snarky Woman in the 2014 episode “Math Heads: Do Math in Your Head” of the comedy “Math Bites”.

What marked the early new millenium for her was perhaps her portrayal of Jen in the 2003 crime comedy “Malibu’s Most Wanted”, directed by John Whitesell, and which starred Jamie Kennedy, Ryan O’Neal and Blair Underwood. It follows a senator who’s trying to prevent his son from becoming a rapper by having him kidnapped by a group of black actors; the movie was nominated for three awards.
Kellie had a couple of other notable performances in the 2000s, in movies such as the 2005 animated adventure science fiction “Thru the Moebius Strip” (voice role), the 2006 thriller drama “Live Once, Die Twice”, and the 2007 mystery crime thriller “Lethal Obsession”.
She’s since appeared in only a couple of films, with her three most recent roles having been in the 2015 romantic drama “Hello, It’s Me”, and in 2019 the crime thriller drama “Death of a Cheerleader” and the romantic drama “Christmas in Montana”.
