Who is Bryan Harsin?

If you are a fan of American Football, you have certainly heard some facts about the current head coach at Auburn University, Bryan Harsin, however, let us tell you more about him. Bryan Dale Harsin was born under the zodiac sign of Scorpio on 1 November 1976, in Boise, Idaho USA; he holds American nationality and his ethnicity is White. Bryan was raised in Boise, where he attended Capital High School, and upon matriculating in 1994, he enrolled at Boise State University, where he was a quarterback and a three-year letterman, and from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, in 2000.

Career

Bryan started his career in 2000, coaching quarterbacks and running backs at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, and then in the following year, he returned to Boise State University as a Graduate Assistant under first-year coach, Dan Hawkins; then from 2002 until 2005, Bryan was the tight ends coach.

When Dan Hawkins left in 2006, Bryan was promoted as quarterbacks coach and offensive co-ordinator, and during his coaching period, the Boise State University team posted a 61-5 (.924) record, played two undefeated seasons, and won two Fiesta Bowls, an American college football bowl game in 2007 and 2010.

After the 2010 season, Bryan was hired by the University of Texas, in Austin, where he was the primary play-caller for the Longhorns, during the 2011 and 2012 seasons, also serving as quarterbacks coach.

In December 2012, Bryan became the head coach at Arkansas State University, in Jonesboro, but in the following year, he returned to Boise State University, where he was the head coach through 22 December 2020, when he became the head coach of the Auburn Tigers, at the Auburn University, Alabama, where he currently serves.

Family

Speaking of his personal life, Bryan hasn’t shared much information regarding his childhood, parents, and any siblings, thus it’s assumed that he prefers to keep their lives private.

He is in a marriage with Kes Harsin, with whom he dated for years before they tied the knot 22 years ago in 2000. According to her Instagram account, she’s a very supportive wife, presenting herself as the ‘head football coach wife’, and it seems that she’s a big fan of Auburn Tigers. She often posts photos featuring herself and her husband, with descriptions full of love.

Bryan and Kes have three children together – the eldest is Devyn Lynn Harsin, born in 2000, and who’s a licensed aesthetician, and permanent make-up and brows artist, their second daughter, Dayn Mykena Harsin was born in 2002, while the youngest is their son Davis, born in 2006, and seems to be following in his father’s steps, since he currently plays American Football for his high school team. As of May 2022, Bryan and Kes are still married.

Affairs

In February 2022, Bryan became the subject of much criticism because of some choices he made, and among the people who have publicly expressed discomfort with the way Bryan handles things was Lee Hunter, a former Auburn Tigers player, who wrote on his Instagram: ‘Coach Harsin has the true mindset for a winner but has a terrible mindset as a person,’ adding: ‘The reason I chose to leave Auburn because we got treated like we wasn’t good enough and like dogs.’

After his first season at Auburn University, 20 players and five assistant coaches left the team, thus the University started investigating, with some rumors saying that Bryan could be fired. According to sources, the only thing in Bryan’s favor is his contract, since ‘the cost to buy him out without cause is $18.3 million, with 70 percent of the money for the five remaining years of his contract being guaranteed’, says ‘sportingnews.com.

However, it seems that Bryan’s troubles weren’t limited just to his coaching, because soon after rumors started about him having an affair with a coach assistant, Clesi Crochet. His wife, Kes, responded to these assumptions by an Instagram post (using an aphorism) saying: ‘Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots’.

Bryan denied the allegations about mistreating players and staffers, and about the rumors saying that he’s cheating on his wife with Clesi Crochet, he hasn’t commented on it yet.

Clesi is 23 years old, a San Diego, California native, but lived in Boise, which is as we mentioned, Bryan’s hometown.

She graduated from Boise State University in 2019, and while she was at college, worked as an Assistant to the Head Football Coach and On-Campus Recruiting Co-ordinator from 2020-21, before she began working as an assistant to Bryan Harsin at Auburn University, in February 2021.

Clesi also hasn’t commented about the rumored affair, and if you visit her Instagram page, you will see that she hasn’t posted since 24 February 2022, which some people commented as her intention to keep away from the media’s attention for a while.

The University made an official statement on 11 February 2022, with the Auburn president, Jay Gogue, in his letter saying: ‘Recently, individuals raised concerns to my administration about the football program.

The nature of these concerns compelled a fact-finding review,’ adding that he is pleased to confirm that Bryan Harsin will remain the head coach.
