Valente Rodriguez is an American actor, best known to the world for his roles as Ernie Cardenas in the TV series “George Lopez” (2002-2007), and as Cesar in the TV series “Happily Divorced” (2011-2013), among several other notable roles that he’s had during his career.

Valente grew up in his hometown in the Rio Grande Valley, and after high school, enrolled at the University of Texas-Pan American. He continued his career with minor roles in such projects as the Primetime Emmy Award-winning comedy-drama series “The Golden Girls” (1988), then the award-nominated crime-drama film “Blood In, Blood Out” (1993), and in the romantic drama film “Mr. Jones”, with Richard Gere and Lena Olin in the lead roles.

Next, he appeared in the adventure film “Huck and the King of Hearts” (1994), based on the novel by Mark Twain and directed by Michael Keusch, while it starred Chauncey Leopardi, Graham Greene and Dee Wallace.

He was Principal Gutierrez in the TV series “High School Musical: The Musical- The Series” (2019-2020), while most recently, he portrayed Manny in seven episodes of the TV comedy series “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me”, created by Jamie Foxx, who is also the star of the series alongside Kyla-Drew and Porscha Coleman.

Furthermore, he appeared in the comedy film “Welcome to Our World” (2021), and is currently working on the thriller mystery film “Proof Sheet”, written and directed by Richard Kilroy, and starring Leo Llenas, Juan Javier Cardenas and Alejandro Delgado.
