Iviona Hatch’s Father – Boosie Badazz Biography
Torrence Ivy Hatch Jr. was born on 14 November 1982, in Baton Rouge, to Torrence Hatch Sr., a pastor who died in 1997, and his wife, Connie Hatch, who was a school principal. Boosie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in his childhood. His educational background is rather vague, and it’s only known that he obtained his GED certificate on 9th March 2013 while incarcerated.
He was introduced to music in the late ‘90s, and started learning about hip hop and the entire rap scene from Young Bleed and C-Loc. As a young man of 15, in 1998 he joined the group Concentration Camp, the youngest member.
He contributed to the group’s fifth album entitled “It’s A Gamble” under the alias Boosie. One of the lead members, Young Bleed, left the group, and Boosie took the prime position in the group, and next to C-Loc and Max Minelli was one of the faces of the group.
His debut solo album, “Youngest of Da Camp,” came out in 2000 at just 17 years old, under the alias Lil Boosie. He continued to make new music and signed a contract with Trill Entertainment, owned by the late Pimp C of UGK, and his second album, “For My Thugz,” came out in 2002.
His third album, “Ghetto Stories,” was a collaboration with fellow rapper Webbie, and came out on 22 July 2003, but his breakthrough was the album “Bad Azz” in 2006, released through Trill Entertainment and Warner Bros. The album topped the US Rap chart, and he continued rather successfully with the album “Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz” in 2009.
That year, Boosie was arrested on drug and gun charges and was sentenced to four years in prison, but in 2010 he was indicted on first-degree murder charges. As a result, Boosie received another 10-year sentence, but after serving five years was released on 5 March 2014.
Upon his release, he made a statement about changing his alias to Boosie Badazz, and since then has performed and recorded music under the new stage name.
He wrote numerous songs while in jail, after which the first album he released was “Touch Down 2 Cause Hell”, through his own label, Bad Azz, and Atlantic Records; the album peaked at No. 2 on the US Rap chart. Two years later, Boosie’s seventh album, “BooPac,” came out, but it was nowhere near the success of the previous release, as it failed to reach the top 10 on the US Rap chart.
Since then, Boosie Badazz has released five studio albums, all through his Bad Azz label, including “Badazz 3.5” (2019), “Goat Talk” (2019), “Goat Talk 3” (2021), and most recently “Heartfelt”, released on 22 February 2022.
Some of his most popular songs include a collaboration with Foxx and Webbie”Wipe Me Down,”, “Show Da World,” a duet with DaBaby “Period,” and “My Eyes Hurt,” among many others.
According to authoritative sources, Boosie Badazz’s net worth has been estimated to be around $1 million as of early 2022, earned through his career in the music industry.
Boosie has been having severe health problems. In 2015, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer, but after successful surgery announced that he was cancer free.
In 2020, Boosie was shot in the leg and was in fear of having it amputated, but following surgery, a week later he made a statement saying that he was at home healing, and that no amputation was necessary.
