Brett Michael Gardner was born in Holly Hill, South Carolina USA, on 24 August 1983 – his zodiac sign is Virgo, and he holds American nationality. He’s currently a free agent, while he’s probably known best for the time he spent playing for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB).

Brett was raised alongside his older brother Glen on their family’s farm in Holly Hill, by their mother Faye who was a housewife, and their father Jerry Gardner who was also a baseball player.

Brett became interested in baseball while still attending a local elementary school, and started thinking about going professional upon enrolling at Holly Hill Academy in 1997. He was a member of the school’s baseball team, as well as of St. George Post 105 competing in American Legion Baseball. Upon matriculating in 2001, Brett enrolled at the College of Charleston, and started playing for their team the Charleston Cougars. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2004, but wasn’t picked during the 2004 MLB Draft.

He was eventually picked as the 109th overall selection by the New York Yankees in the 2005 MLB Draft, and gained some recognition in 2006 after becoming a Florida State League All Star.

He played in minor leagues until 30 June 2008, when he made his major league debut.
