From 1988 to 1992, he joined World Championship Wrestling together with his brother, Rick Steiner, and won the NWA World Tag Team Championship on 1 November 1989. They left and joined World Wrestling Foundation, where they wrestled until 1994. On 11 January 1993, he appeared on the very first episode or Raw, before moving to Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1995. Here he defeated wrestlers like Vampire Warrior (Gangrel), Dudley Dudley and Stevie Richards. In 1996, he returned to WCW, where he defeated Harlem Heat to win the World Tag Team Championship. He stayed there for five years, and in 2001 he moved to World Wrestling All-Stars until 2002.
