Roscoe Dash Net Worth $4 million
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Johnson is the youngest of six siblings. His love for music came from the influence of his brother who created tunes in their basement. When the brothers reached high school, they formed the duo Black Out Boiz or B.O.B. and he went under the stage name ATL, after his hometown Atlanta.
After achieving little success with his brother, Johnson decided to fly solo and started writing music and pursuing projects alone. He created mixtapes and distributed them to various people, until his cousin Torrey YT Hood connected him with another local rap trio Travis Porter.
Johnson and Travis Porter released the song “All The Way Turnt Up”, but although the two created the song together, Johnson was only credited as a featured artist on their mixtape and their relationship turned sour. Although the trio Travis Porter insists that the event was a mistake, Johnson decided to part ways because of the controversy.
During this time Johnson also decided to change his stage name to Roscoe Dash to be more marketable. He got his name after looking for a superhero name in Google; the name stuck and decided to use it as his new identity.
Johnson then met LA da Boomman and signed him to his own production company, Making Moves Inc. He also re-recorded the song “All The Way Turnt Up”, this time with rapper Soulja Boy Tell’Em and the song became a huge hit. The success of the song catapulted him to stardom and led to a recording contract with Interscope Records. Immediately his debut album “Ready Set Go!” was released, and his fame and net worth increased tremendously.
Aside from being a solo act, Johnson has also worked with other artists that has resulted in successful works. The song “No Hands” with Waka Flocka Flame & Wale became a chart topper and even went 3x Platinum. Another song entitled “Marvin & Chardonnay” with artist Big Sean also sold significantly to become certified Gold. His collaborations proved his latent talent and also helped the boost of his wealth.
Today, Johnson is still active in the music industry, and has recently released several mixtapes including ‘The Appetizer” in 2015 and “Glicth” in 2016.
In terms of his personal life, Johnson is married to Njari Amina Gayles and together they have one child.
