Rick Quashnick was born in 1958, in Astoria, Oregon, USA, and is a fisherman and reality television personality, best known for being a part of the documentary television series by Discovery Channel entitled “Deadliest Catch”. He was a part of the first three seasons of the show as the captain of the Maverick, but all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

So just how rich is Rick Quashnick, as of early-2018? Sources estimate a net worth that is at $600,000, mostly earned through success in fishing and his television appearances. During his time on “Deadliest Catch”, he captained one of the smallest vessels in the show, both more exciting and potentially dangerous. As he continues his endeavors, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Rick was born a second generation fisherman. At a young age he was already being taught how to fish, and started to become very active when he turned 13 years of age. His competitiveness eventually led him to rise up the ranks to become the captain of the Maverick, bought by Rick in 1991. His net worth started to increase as he found further success in his fishing endeavours, and this eventually led him to be approached by Original Productions for the show “Deadliest Catch”, a series which follows several ships and their crew as they fish in the Bering Sea during the crab fishing seasons. The name of the show is derived from the danger of fishing in this area, with a high risk of injury and even the possibility of death. Due to the nature of the show, even the film crew has to interact with the ship’s crew in order to ensure their combined safety.

There was a controversy in the show when the Maverick was sunk in a collision with another ship, however, it was not actually the same ship that Quashnick owned. For a time, he also lent his ship to Blake Painter for the third season of “Deadliest Catch” during the King Crab season. The success of the show has also led to several spin-offs, and Quashnick became a part of one of them, entitled “After the Catch”, which he joined during the first season. The show is a mini-series that follows the captains of ships in “Deadliest Catch” when they are not fishing. They swap stories, sights and experiences in a set location. Thanks to their run with the show, Rick’s net worth continued to rise. After the third season, the Maverick continued to work in the Bering Sea during crab fishing season, though they opted to no longer be a part of “Deadliest Catch” – according to an interview, Rick opted out as he did not like how the show was pushing certain story lines.. During the summer months, Quashnick also runs a gillnet boat called Miss Donna, in Bristol Bay, Alaska.

For his personal life, it is known that Rick was married to Donna. The couple met right after high school, and she now helps with his fishing operations. They also had a son who passed away while serving in Iraq with the US military. Donna passed away in 2017.
