Rashard Jamal Mendenhall was born on the 19th June 1987, in Sokie, Illinois USA, and is a retired American Football running back, who played the majority of his career in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers. His career started in 2008 and ended in 2013, after which he started writing, and currently works for HBO as a writer of the TV series “Ballers”.

Following his successful years at university, Rashard declared for the 2008 NFL Draft, and was selected as the 23rd overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He signed a contract worth $12.55 million over five years, which marked the start of his professional career and his net worth.

In his debut season Rashard couldn’t get accustomed to the faster pace of the NFL games, and as a result he only played in four games, and didn’t record a single touchdown, with only 58 running yards. Nevertheless, Rashard trained hard with running backs coach Kirby Wilson and hia second season was a great improvement. He played in all 16 games recording 1,108 rushing yards and scoring 7 touchdowns. The following season was his best, as he posted a record high of 13 touchdowns and had 1,273 rushing yards out of 324 carries. From then his stats began declining, and in 2012 season he played only 6 games, following an ACL injury in the last game of the 2011 season. He couldn’t regain his form in 2012 and was suspended by the team’s officials, and his contract wasn’t renewed.

Instead, he signed a contract worth $2.5 million over one year with the Arizona Cardinals, and scored 8 touchdowns with 687 rushing yards. After the season ended, Rashard decided to retire; his decision left the whole world in a daze, since he was only 26 years old.

He then started his writing career, and so far has written the sports comedy “Ballers”, aired on HBO since 2015, starring Dwayne Johnson, John David Washington and Omar Benson Miller.
Regarding his personal life, Rashard has been in a relationship with health coach Sandra Lee Romah since 2011.
