Moon Zappa Net Worth $1.5 Million

Moon is the first child of the famous musician, activist and filmmaker Frank Zappa and his second wife, Adelaide Gail Sloatman. Moon has three younger siblings, Dweezil, an actor and musician, Ahmet, musician and writer, and Diva, an actress. She is of mixed ancestry since her father was of Sicilian, Greek-Arab and French ancestry, while her mother had French, Irish and Danish roots. She went to Oakwood School in North Hollywood but soon joined her father in his musical endeavors; when she was only 14 years old she recorded a monologue as part for the song “Valley Girl”, which became a huge hit in the USA. She then teamed up with her brother Dweezil to feature as VJs on the MTV, and after that launched her acting career.

She made her debut in 1982 in a minor role in the TV crime-drama series “CHiPs”, and then appeared in the sci-fi horror “Nightmares” the following year. In 1985 she had a role in the adventure comedy “National Lampoon’s European Vacation”, starring Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo and Dana Hill, while in 1986 she portrayed Barbara in the TV comedy series “Fast Times”, which increased her wealth. Before the end of the decade, Moon also appeared in the horror “Heartstopper” (1989), and romantic drama “Listen to Me” (1989). She started the new decade with the role of Tess Harlow in the TV comedy series “Normal Life”, next to her brother Dweezil, and appeared in the sci-fi comedy film “The Spirit of ‘76”. Four years later she was cast as Carrie in the romantic thriller “Dark Side of Genius”, and in 1996 starred in the romantic comedy “Love Always”, next to Marisa Ryan and Beverly D’Angelo again.

In the 2000s she had several guest appearances in such TV series as “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (2004), in which she was cast as a niqab-clad Muslim woman, then in “How I Met Your Mother” (2006) as Stacy, Ted Mosby’s cousin, and as Jenny in “Private Practice” in 2007. In 2010 Moon featured in the romantic drama “Love & Distrust”, which starred Robert Downey Jr., James Franco and Amy Adams, but the film failed both critically and commercially despite some big Hollywood names, while most recently she was the voice of Tracey and Mrs. Lamber in the animated TV series “High School USA!” in 2013.

Moon hasn’t forsaken her musical talents, and in 2000 she worked with Kip Winger on the third album that he released as a solo act, entitled “Songs from the Ocean Floor”.

In a most recent interview, Moon said that she is currently writing her second book, which will depict her growing up in her “crazy house”.

Regarding her personal life, Moon was married to drummer Paul Doucette from 2002 to 2014; it ended in divorce after the two had a daughter, born on the same date as her grandfather, Frank, just 64 years later.

Moons mother passed away in 2015 and the rights to Frank Zappa’s family trust were shared unevenly; Moon and her brother Dweezil received 20%, while Ahmet and Diva got 30% each. This left Moon in shock, and now she has to wait for the trust to become profitable, as it is apparently indebted, to ask permission from her brother Ahmet in order to use Frank’s music and merchandise with his name to make money from it.
