Who is Ashley Underwood?

Ashley was born in Georgia, USA in 1979 – her zodiac sign’s believed to be Sagittarius, and she holds American nationality; Ashley’s not to be confused with the reality star of the same name, who was born in Benton, Maine in 1985. She’s a humorist, blogger and TV producer, while she’s probably known best for being the wife of Larry David, a famous American actor, comedian, film writer, producer and director.

Early life and education

Ashley was raised in Georgia by her parents, about whom not a lot is known because she respects their privacy; it’s believed that her father was the owner of a car wash, and that her mother was a housewife. Because Ashley hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, she’s believed to be an only child.

She grew up being interested in a couple of activities, as she enjoyed playing sports with her peers, and practiced both dancing and acting; it’s also said that Ashley spent some time living in London, England, and upon returning that she lived in Los Angeles, California. She studied at a local high school, and upon matriculating in 1997, enrolled at the American University of Paris in France, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in comparative literature in 2001; Ashley continued her education at John Marshall Law School, from which she earned her Juris Doctorate.

She produced all the seven episodes of the critically acclaimed 2018 comedy series “Who Is America?”, created by Sacha Baron Cohen, who also starred in it alongside Roy Elghanayan and Emanuela Postacchini. It follows Sacha as he’s explaining America’s patriotism, and the series was nominated for 11 awards, including three Primetime Emmys.

Ashley co-produced the 2020 comedy movie “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan”, directed by Jason Woliner, and which starred Sacha Baron Cohen, Maria Bakalova and Tom Hanks. It follows Borat as he’s once again visiting the US, and the movie won 37 of the 103 awards for which it was nominated, including two Oscar nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Maria Bakalova).

Love life and marriage with Larry David

Ashley met Larry David at Sacha Baron Cohen’s birthday party in 2017; Larry made a good impression on Ashley, as she found him very funny, but he then left before dessert, not wanting to ruin the good impression. However, they went on their first date not long after that, and eventually exchanged vows on 7 October 2020, in a small ceremony attended by only the closest of their friends and family members. Ashley and Larry don’t have children together, but they have a pet dog Bernie, and a pet cat Elwood.

Ashley hasn’t mentioned any other men whom she’s perhaps been with, while it’s widely known that she’s Larry’s second wife, as he was married to American writer and producer Laurie Ellen David from 1993 to 2007; Larry and Laurie have two daughters together, Cazzie and Romy.

Larry was raised in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, alongside his older brother Ken, by their father Mortimer Julis ‘Morty’ David who was a men’s clothing manufacturer, and their mother Rose. Larry studied at Sheepshead Bay High School, from which he matriculated in 1965; he continued his education at the University of Maryland, College Park, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1970, following which Larry spent five years serving in the US Army Reserve.

While working on his career as a stand-up comedian, Larry financially supported himself by being a limousine driver, store clerk and historian.
