Early life and education
Julie was raised in Crossville by her father Gary Emery who was a dairy farmer, and her mother Janice (nee Fields) who was a computer analyst. Because she hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, most people believe Julie to be an only child.
She became interested in acting while attending Cumberland County High School, Julie was a member of its drama club and appeared in various plays performed at the school. She was 16 years old when she started appearing in theatre plays, such as “Bye Bye Birdie” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”.
Julie matriculated in 1993, and then enrolled at Webster University’s Conservatory in St. Louis, Missouri, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in acting in 1997. She continued appearing in plays for the following five years, prior to launching her career on TV.

The two met in 1995, while they were both attending Webster Conservatory. Kevin has six acting credits, and is perhaps still known best for his portrayal of Ramses in the 2006 film “The Ten Commandments: The Musical”.
Julie and Kevin don’t have children together, and most people believe this to be because they want to focus on their careers, however, there are also those who claim that perhaps one of the two is infertile; none of this has been addressed by Kevin and Julie.

She’s physically quite active, and enjoys cycling and roller-skating with her friends, while she also has several training sessions at the gym every week, mostly because it’s important for her acting career to stay fit.
Julie is into travelling, and her acting career has taken her to various US states, as well as to a couple of European countries, including Spain and England.
