Josh Gates was born on the 10th August 1977, in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts USA, and is a television producer, presenter, author and explorer, perhaps best known for his work as a co-executive producer as well as a host of “Destination Truth” (2007-2012), and is currently on a Travel Channel where he hosts the TV series “Expedition Unknown” (2015- ). These interesting and well-paid jobs increase his net worth consistently. Gate’s career on television started in 2002.

Joshua Gates was raised by English parents who traveled a lot because of work. In 1995, he went to Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts where he studied archaeology and drama, graduating in 1999. In the meantime, Gordon traveled to Caesarea Maritima, Israel to work in deep-sea excavations from 1996 to 1998. He also climbed Mt. Aconcagua in the Argentine Andes, and Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.

After graduating from college, Josh moved to Los Angeles to pursue a photographic career, and try-out as an on-screen actor. He appeared in numerous commercials before participating in the ESPN reality show “Beg, Borrow & Deal” in 2002. In 2003 and 2004, Gates appeared in two short films called “Party Foul”, and “Singularity”, and then in 2006 he had a role in one episode of “Flavor of Love,” starring Flavor Flav. The same year, Gates was one of the imposters as part of a sociological experiment, produced by Budweiser in the show called “Truly Famous”.

Josh’s career as a TV host started in 2007, in the SyFy (formerly the Sci-Fi Channel) television show named “Destination Truth”, which became very popular, the highest-rated of all SyFy programs. Also in 2007, Gates hosted “Ghost Hunters: Live Halloween Special”, and was a guest in an episode of “Ghost Hunters International” in 2008. He appeared in three more short films in 2007: “Hard Cell”, “Cookie de Mayo” and “Carpet Diem” before working on the “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files” show in 2011. In 2012, he hosted 100th episode special of “Ghost Hunters – Live”  from the stage of “Saturday Night Live” in 30 Rockefeller Center, during which Alcatraz Prison was investigated .

Josh is now also known as a creator, narrator, and producer of the paranormal television show called “Stranded” (2013), and then in 2014, he was offered a deal to host the show on the Travel Channel named “Expedition Unknown,” similar to his “Destination Truth.” The premiere was in January 2015, and the investigation of missing Amelia Earhart was the topic. The second season started in October 2015, and the third aired late in 2016.

Regarding his personal life, Josh Gates married Hallie Gnatovich, a former co-host from the “Destination Truth” in 2014; the pair has a son, and resides in Los Angeles. Gates is an avid photographer, qualified SCUBA diver, and member of an organization dedicated to exploration since 1904 – The Explorers Club.
