John is the son of Matt Henson and his wife Annette Henson. He went to Round Rock High School in Round Rock, Texas, but then in his senior year transferred to Sickles High School in Tampa, Florida. He received McDonald’s All-American honors and was First-team Parade All-American in his senior year.
