John W. Harbaugh was born on 23 September 1962, in Toledo, Ohio USA, of Polish, Sicilian(mother) and German and Irish(father) descent. John is a professional football coach, best known to be part of the National Football League (NFL) as the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. He also previously coached the defensive backs of the Philadelphia Eagles, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

Harbaugh attended Pioneer High School, and after matriculating went to Miami (Ohio) University. He graduated in 1984 and would then start his coaching career by being an assistant at Western Michigan, Morehead State and Cincinnati successively, following his father who was a former head coach in college football.

His first NFL opportunity came in 1998, when he was hired by the Philadelphia Eagles head coach Ray Rhodes as an assistant. He would be retained by the team when they switched head coaches to Andy Reid, and would become the special-teams coach of the Eagles for nine years, followed by a stint as their defensive-backs coach; thanks to his promotion, a lot more teams were looking to hire him as head coach.

In 2008, he finally landed the head coach job with the Baltimore Ravens after Jason Garret rejected the offer. According to reports, he impressed the team owner during the interview, and he was also recommended by Bill Belichick, the New England Patriots’ head coach. He would become the head coach without serving as a defensive or offensive coordinator. Within a few days of getting the job, he would hire Cam Cameron as an offensive coordinator and in their first game, would defeat the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2009, he hired Greg Mattison as the new defensive coordinator and would lead the team to a 9-7 record. He would improve his playoff record by defeating the New England Patriots, but then lost to the Indianapolis Colts. He would continue with a playoff appearance in the following year but lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the divisional round. He was given a three-year extension with the team in 2011, and would achieve a 12-4 record, winning the AFC North division, but losing to the New England Patriotsint the AFC Championship Game. They got revenge in 2012 and would then go on to face his brother and the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. The Ravens would be victorious in what would be known as the “Harbowl”. He would reach the playoffs in 2014 but in 2015 had his first losing season after losing several key players to injuries.

John has won numerous awards throughout his career including the Outstanding Civilian Service Award from the Department of the Army Civilian Awards. He was also inducted in the Miami (Ohio) “Cradle of Coaches” during 2013.

For his personal life, it is known that John has been married to Ingrid since 1991, and they have a daughter. He is a Roman Catholic.
